In 2011 I stayed her for probably 25 nights as my companies HQ is located very, very close, a 5 minutes walk away. To be honest the hotel is dated and needs some time and money invested to get it up to a decent level again, which I feel they can do because they charge like a wounded bull!!! In saying that the actual staff are very courteous and friendly, the breakfast chefs always remember me and how I like my omelette and are up for a bit of a chat.
Every bathroom of every room I stayed in needs a paint job and some cosmetic repairs, but these paper mainly superficial and I have had no need to request a change of room.
On 2 occasions last year I checked in late and was given a room with 2 single beds - I was NOT happy yet was unable to be moved as they were at capacity. Being at capacity happens often as large tour companies coach in for 1 or 2 nights putting a strain on staffing and amenities.
To summarise this is comfortable but not grand, the group of people I travel to Sydney with for meeting are starting to look for last minute discounted accommodation in the city where we get 5 star central city accommodation for a cheaper rate.
Room Tip: Definitely request a room near the lobby with a king / queen bed as the furtherest rooms are miles a...

Thank you for taking the time to write a review on the Stamford Grand North Ryde. It is very refreshing to receive such constructive feedback on the areas in which we are in need of improvement and the areas in which we are doing well with.
Our dedicated maintenance team are constantly working on refurbishing areas in the hotel that are in need of light attention, however we do value your points and they have been noted with many thanks.
I will personally relay your kind comments to our kitchen breakfast staff, as I too agree that the team go above and beyond to ensure our patrons are being looked after. Our chefs do make the effort of adding those small extra touches like remembering our regular guests special orders such as a fresh bircher muesli or a lovely breakfast omelette (which are usually available upon request).
We acknowledge and value your feedback and do hope you will afford us the opportunity of creating a better impression in the future.
