March 2007 - The property was lovely but needed a good cleaning. Sidney was extremely hot and humid, but the air conditioning was not turned on during the night. Because of the heat and humidity and the noise from the street because the windows were open, we could not sleep. Even though Liz Tricketts was aware of the problem, she made no effort to make us more comfortable, but passed it off by saying that was the way we do things in Australia. If you sat in the ballroom the cats were walking on the sofa behind your head. One morning we had a tour leaving before her 9 AM breakfast schedule, and it seemed to be an imposition for us to get a bowl of dry cereal, although we were able to get one. In fairness, the two mornings we had breakfast at her scheduled times, the food was good and especially the fruit was exquisite.
For the price we paid, the customer service and hospitality was lacking. If ever we visit beautiful Sydney again, we must sadly admit that we would go elsewhere to a place where courtesy and customer service was more evident and better demonstrated.
