This is a lovely little hotel. Clean and very friendly staff. No problems at all. Nice and close to the nightlife but not too close that it is too noisy. Would stay here again

This little place is perfect for a weekend getaway. We stay here when there are events on at the SCG or the SFS as it is only a 5 minute walk. The rooms are divine and have a great homely feel. The only downside is the lack of parking, and the traffic noise of Flinders St.

I've stayed in Sydney about 20 times and try to find the best prices for good hotels by searching various Australian travel sites. I reserved this in September and stayed 4 nights in December 2010. Booked directly with the hotel and rate was $150-$165 per night.
Winnie at the front desk gave me the quickest check-in I've ever had anywhere. My room was beautiful, but quite small -- no desk, but there is a lounge area on the main floor with several desks, comfy couches, reading material and big screen t.v. The bathroom was large with a tub and marble/brass fittings, but the lighting was very poor. Other than that, the place was great -- fridge in room, good selection on t.v. and location fantastic - close to Oxford Street and Crown Street, both excellent shopping and eating areas. Room was very quiet and hotel is secure at night. Continental breakfast is available in sunny courtyard, with local newspapers available free. Pool is more like a big hot tub without the jets!
Met two other front desk Staff, John and Tai, both of whom were also helpful, professional and friendly. This mansion used to belong to to the Lord Mayor of Sydney and it was a pleasure to stay in such a gorgeous, historical treasure. Taxi to the airport took less than 20 minutes -- $38 from and $27 to.

We stayed here for a night and had a terrible experience. WAY overpriced, noisy rooms and floors, old appliances and features, weird atmosphere and there is only 2 parking spaces for the entire hotel.

Terrible treatment from the staff when we complained and no apologies for giving us the wrong room.

STAY ELSEWHERE!! You'll be happy you did.
