“Spacious room”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

Room is huge and you got a lot of storage space. If you happen got a corner room, that's huge, say 232. I have stayed here 3 times on my last quarters business trips.

Bath room is luxury, both shower and bath tub. Though it somewhat look dated, but well maintened.

Location is excellent. Up the till towards George Street is Town Hall station, which is the center of the center. It closes to Darling Harbour, which is a throw stone distance.

Food choice is abundant around Park Royal, where you can go to China Town in minute.

“Great little Secret Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

Booked it as a secret hotel on lastminute.com.
Good value for money, fast and easy check in and check out.
Good location as it was an easy walk to George Street and Darling Harbour on either side. Went to the casino by catching the tram at the Exhitbition stop, a easy 5 min walk through Darling Harbour
Did not eat there as there are too many good places around the area that we wanted to try out.
Comfortable beds. Downside would be the noise we could hear from next door, we knew when they used the bathroom and could even hear them coughing through the walls. Noise also from the traffic was heard but not enough to disturb a nights sleep. All in all a good place to stay and even better value on the secret hotel deal.

“Affordable Sydney Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

It can be difficult at times to find a good value hotel in Sydney, depending on what events are on. The Park Royal is not super cheap, but is great value for money. The location is fabulous for getting to any part of the city.

“Great Location.”

My husband and I and two friends stayed here for 4 nights in the middle of January 2012. We had a lovely room with a view of the Harbour.
The hotel is well located for both the restaurants on the harbour and in China town.
The hotel is very clean and the beds are really comfortable.
The hotel has a happy hour Monday to Friday at 5pm were the beer is two for the price of one which is around 6 Australian dollars
Be prepared to pay around 35 Australian dollars for a breakfast which works out at around £26 at today's exchange rate. Sydney is very expensive.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the Harbour

“A hidden gem!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

My husband and I stayed at the Parkroyal Darling Harbour a couple of weeks ago. Initially we couldn't find it - hence my title, even the Navman couldn't find it, I almost parked in town and got a taxi. However, the search was worth it. I had booked one night as a "secret hotel" so wasn't expecting much, but we were very pleasantly surprised. Our room was on the 10th floor with a lovely view of Darling Harbour. The room was very pleasant and a reasonable size. Room and bathroom were very clean, and the bed was very comfortable. Even though a major flyover runs next to the hotel, we could not hear any traffic, all in all it was a very quiet hotel.

We didn't use the restaurant as we were meeting family in town for dinner, we did, however, have a drink in the bar before we left. Service in the bar was outstanding. Normally it would be a walk down to Circular Quay and the Opera House, on this night the rain was heavy so we got a taxi - $17 but it was Friday peak hour.

Check-in and check out were very easy and the staff were extremely friendly and polite. If you want to park onsite it is by valet parking only at a cost of $40 per night but having taken so long to find it we did not want to venture back out into the public carpark - we would have had to get back out into major traffic in the one way system. Although we thought $40 was expensive, it was worth it for convenience. Concierge again couldn't have been more helpful.

I go to Sydney regularly and usually stay at more expensive hotels - we paid $140 for the Parkroyal, however, I would not hesitate to stay there again or to recommend it to family and friends. The management and staff are to be congratulated - they are dong a great job!

Room Tip: Ask for a top floor room overlooking Darling Harbour.
