I love this hotel. I have stayed here on quite a few business trips and I have never been disappointed. And if you are swayed by the old 'Position, Position, Position' adage, then you won't find a better hotel in North Sydney. My room on the 7th floor overlooks sweeping views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Lavender Bay - one of the most beautiful harbour views in the world. At night, you gaze on the iconic Luna Park amusement area which is lit up and watch ferries cut their way to Sydney's Circular Quay.
I have never not had a spectacular view of the harbour from any room I have stayed in here. In terms of lay out, the rooms are well appointed, cosy and very clean. Towels are fluffy and bed sheets immaculate. Modern and tasteful, the rooms are comfortable and welcoming and you can eat your dinner from room service overlooking the waters of Sydney Harbour from a small round table.
Windows are double glazed so noise is kept to a minimum but there is a clever design that you can slide the first window across to reveal a small push out window to let in fresh air in if you so desire. The bathroom is a room with a view which I just love - cleverly designed, the bathroom has a full glass panel (but has a pull down blind for privacy if needed) which allows you to look at the Harbour from the bathroom and gives the small but modern bathroom ample light and a unique element.
The mini bar is well equipped and there is not much the hotel misses in providing comfort for a weary traveller. The beds are soft and the pillows dreamy and I received a welcome back card this time around after staying there on many business trips. Nice touch. I always call in room service and the food is very good, on time and well presented. Whilst there is a train line that runs directly under the hotel, this is of little consequence and should not deter anyone from trying this terrific hotel. Staff are friendly without being overbearing and attend to requests in a speedy manner. Harbourvjew North Sydney is undoubtedly well worth the money.
