I booked through wotif because the Rydges Priority Guest programme couldn't match that kind of deal, which I find amazing, I'd be certain they'd want to keep their customers, not push them away.
Anyhoo go to check in, all good, only to be told the king bed I'd ordered through wotif wouldn't be available till 9.00pm Saturday night, I was tired and just wanted to check in so I was saddled with a room with 2 queen beds. Overkill to say the least.
The mini bar is sparce, nothing to say wow. I was offered a late check out for 3.00pm but when I advised the desk clerk that I had to leave early Sunday morning, all I got was a shoulder shrug, instead they should have said to this Priority Rewards member was, well we could comp you 2 glasses of champers or a breakfast in the morning like other Rydges places I have stayed when I advised them of the early next morning start. Look after your Priority members Rydges World Square.
I left a key at the reception for my beautiful other half to collect as he was tired as well, that didn't eventuate because I know for a fact the check in clerk wasn't listening to a word I was saying.
Room was fine, I wouldn't pay full price for the stay what so ever. We ate out as the prices were exorbedent as per any hotel you stay in.
For a night in the city for us it was ok, but we'll be going back to 4 Points and Sheraton on the Park where SPG rewards programme actually treat you well and listen.
Won't be back to Rydges World Square, location is fine but there are greater places to stay in Sydney CBD.
