We stayed at the Sydney Westin for 4 nights in Oct 2011. The location is fantastic, centre of the city, valet parking was easy and check-in was quite quick. The hotel staff are unobtrusive, but always on hand to assist if needed. We needed some things from our car on a few occasions and they were delivered to the room in minutes.
We stayed in the heritage part of the hotel and had a room facing inward to the large covered courtyard. The room was large, with a separate lobby area with the bathroom off to one side and a small walk-in robe on the other. The bath was fantastically oversize and there was a large walk-in rain shower. Toiletries were high end. The main room was large with 3 Georgian style large arched windows. The bed was heavenly.
The old stairway in this hotel was a location in the movie The Matrix, and makes a great photo location.
This hotel is in walking distance from may of Sydney's attractions - the Rocks, the Opera House, Art Gallery, Circular Quay and the CBD shopping district.
I searched around for prices before booking through the hotel's own site - it had the cheapest rates.
A couple of tips, the restaurants under the hotel are overpriced (we ate at two, maybe the others are better?). Internet connection in your room costs extra which is a bit strange for a classy hotel, however we picked up the free wi-fi from the Lobby from our inward facing room .
