We stayed here from the 28th to the 29th of December, and only booked this room on the same afternoon for a very reasonable rate, for the fact that it is in the city center of Sydney and in the time between Christmas and New Years.
The first problem was parking, there is a little taxi strip in front of the hotel but it was full with taxis so we went into the nearby car park. It was okay to leave the car there until closing time (after 6pm) for $15 or overnight for $40. In the middle of Sydney that seems reasonable and its more or less the same everywhere. We were checked in promptly and staff were very friendly.
The room was very big, more like a suite, with a full living room, a kitchen inluding a dish washer, a large bedroom with TV and a spacious bathroom with a bathtub. It was very clean and modern enough for my taste. The lighting in the hallways and the lift were very dim but I rather liked it, it seemed very relaxed. Neon-bright steel-and-glass hotels always seem a bit hectic in terms of lighting and brightness. Cosy would describe it best! The beds were perfectly comfortable!
We checked out at 11.30 the next morning, again staff were great & helpful, pointing us in necessary directions and providing us with necessary information.
The location just couldnt be better. Chinatown with its nice restaurants and dining options is less than one minute away, to Darling Harbour and the IMAX it is maybe five minutes at most.
I would, no, I WILL definitely stay at this hotel again next time I am in Sydney.
Room Tip: We had Room 920 and it was great! Seemed to be in a more quiet corner of the building.
