We booked a Supreme Queen in this hotel. Based on past reviews, I expected a small but clean room. It was clean but not small at all! When you open the door, there's the bed, desk, TV and shower/toilet. But surprisingly there was another door that opened to another room that had its own entrance from the hallway, but it only had a couch, another desk and another toilet! It took us a few minutes to work out that it's part of our room as our key works in the second entrance and the middle door could only be opened from the lounge. It worked out well as our friends who were also visiting interstate for a high school reunion were able to come and sit at our lounge.
I have to say though that our friend's room, which was a double did seem a bit small. But just right for a short stay for one person.
The staff were very friendly and responsive. The whole place was very clean and quiet despite being right beside a pub. The location is also unbeatable. It was right beside the shopping centre, 2 blocks from Town Hall station, a couple of blocks from Darling Harbour and Chinatown. Walking distance to other attractions. I highly recommend this place and would definitely stay there again in my next visit to Sydney. Great value for money.
stayed here 2 nights for a wedding in central sydney, and one of the cheapest I could find. Superior double room at $140 per night and close to QVB and transport. good large shower (big enough for two) and reasonable room on non smoking floor. No outlook however (into large void) but for location and price, worth it.
We took the airport shuttle, which also carries other passengers to other parts of the city. Luckily Metro Pitts was amongst the first drop offs.
We thought the room was small and seemed cramp, hardly any space between the bed and the walls. It had only one place to put the suitcase and the other had to be put on the floor, blocking the cupboard doors.
There was window opening to the back of the building and facing the extractor duct pipe.
The room was well equipped with a TV, fridge, ironing board and tea and coffee facilities. We found the lighting very poor and only one small bedside lamp
The bar area was open to the public and had the Internet which was reasonably priced.
The hotel is very close to Darling Harbour and half of an hour walk to Circular Quay. Even on a rainy day we managed to walk up to the Harbour Bridge without getting too wet by walking under the shop canopies.
China town and Paddys Market are very short walk where one can find many restaurants. Best to go in the evenings when the place is hustling and bustling.
We walked to Hyde Park and other places as taking the hop on hop off bus would have taken twice as long. One more thing- if booking on the bus tour it is best to tag on some of the other attractions as it can be cheaper. The bus driver on our first day was very helpful in recommending but it is worth checking when purchasing your ticket.
We agree with some other traveller’s comments that any longer than 3 nights would be difficult and become uncomfortable. One got to bear in mind that in a city like Sydney you are going to be out most of the day and if you are looking for a resaonbly priced hotel room than Metro Pitt is ideal.
I stayed here for a Saturday night with my mum in a standard twin room. We arrived at about 11am and to our surprise, the room was ready! The man at the desk was very friendly and helpful, he gave us a map and directions to wherever we needed to go.
The room was small but clean and relatively modern. The bathroom was big and very clean. All and all, the room was value for money and perfect for a short stay in Sydney.
All the staff we encountered throughout the hotel were extremely friendly and left a positive impression on our stay. The hotel is very central to everything and is right near Townhall train station and the free bus stops.
Was so happy with the staff, location and price, we have already booked another stay. Thumbs up!
