So here I am trying to check-in, and the guy cant speak english except for a few rehearsed lines. We made the booking through a travel-agent, and the TA didnt use the standard name of the rooms they have. So, this guys says our booking is invalid, even though we have proof-of-payment. He said "your booking say double-room, but we no have double-room, only standard and balcony - therefore you can not check in".

Arrrgh! So then we must pay AGAIN for another room - but you can only stay a minimum of 2-nights!

OK - so we do that. Then we get to our room. There was barely enough space to open the front door of the room before it hits the bed! We squeeze into the room. You cant believe it! Only enough room for one person to stand up at a time, the other person has to be on the bed. In fact, all you can do is sit on the bed - there is NO ROOM what-so-ever.

Rude, stupid, expensive, cheating, lying, rip-off.

We booked this hotel before reading the reviews as most places were booked out and we'd left it quite late to find somewhere for 9 people this weekend. However, after reading the reviews we decided to keep looking and find somewhere else and now are staying at a backpackers. Although it clearly says on their webpage you can cancel with no charge up to 72hours beforehand they still insisted on charging us $100 even though we're cancelling 4 days in advance! This place is definitely dodgy. Thanks for the warnings!!

This is easily the worst hotel I've stayed in Sydney for the price. Tatty carpet and poorly fitted out room. It should be advertised as a cheap hostel. Wanted to leave as soon as I arrived. However the staff were very polite and helpful which eased the pain.

Just spent 2 nights here. Worst place I've ever stayed in. Website photos were clearly taken over 5 years ago when first renovated. Rooms are now dirty, all walls marked, yellowing, with holes. Maintenance is none existent as half the light bulbs were blown.
Despite no smoking rules they were clearly smoking in the rooms, it stank.
On the ground floor was a bar come nightclub that played the loudest music, shaking my room 2 floors above until at least 3am. I.e got very little sleep.
Bathroom was filthy.
Room was not serviced.
Toiletries were none existent.
Wish I had read reviews before.
