“Nice but a bit tired”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 February 2012

The good
the location is v good, opposite the museum of Sydney and a block from circular quay.
The views, a long as you are high enough, are great.
It's clean
The staff are very friendly and helpful.
Beds are very comfortable.

The bad
The rooms, particularly the bathrooms, are looking a bit tired.
The breakfast is hideously expensive and just a buffet.
They hung up towels I left on the floor for replacing.
They only change the linen every three days.

I think I would try the Sofitel or the Westin next time.

Room Tip: Go high and ask for a corner room.

Thank you for taking the time to write your review and please accept my apologies for the towels not being replaced. Normally it is a standard if the towels are placed on the floor or in the bath tub they are automatically replaced with fresh towels.

With regards to bed linen change, there is a card which you only need to place on the bed to have your linen changed daily, this is not a problem at all. Otherwise if a guest is staying longer than one night it is changed every 2nd day. My apologies if you did not notice the change linen signage.

I do agree our location is very handy to all attractions and I do hope overall you had an enjoyable stay with us.

We look forward to welcoming your return.

Your sincerely

“Great Hotel a very short walk from the Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 February 2012

Just come back from Sydney and stayed at this hotel - a little bit pricey but very convenient for all Sydney's sights and transport around the city either by bus or by ferry. Great views if you have the right room.

“Amazing hotel. Why would you stay anywhere else?”

We recently visited Sydney for the first time and chose Intercontinental Hotel. This hotel is amazing. Fantastic location one block from Opera House, Botanical Gardens and waterside! Great rooms and fantastic harbor view rooms. service was excellent and the breakfast included in our rate was the best continental breakfast we have had by a hotel. Much better location and views than Marriott.

“Modern and right on the Barbour”

While this hotel is a bit further away from the main shopping strip of central Sydney - as opposed to say the Sheraton on the Park or the Westin - it is right on the doorstep of the harbour, the Opera House, the Harbour Bridge and Sydney's excellent ferry services. As you would expect, excellent modern rooms, good service and good food. The only downside if this hotel is access in and out if you bring a car - a long, narrow drive out. But best to avoid cars at all in central Sydney.

“Great location, great views, great staff!”

If you choose this hotel, make sure to book a 'Club room' you will not be disappointed. We had 2 hours 5-7pm of canopes & drinks, overlooking one of the most gorgeous cities in the world! Being that they are included I thought they might be a little slow, however this was not the case, and the staff were lovely & friendly. Breakfast is also in the Club room, and after a meal out we would head back for a night cap or 2, (latte/cappuccino coffee & tea are included in Club room price). Rooms were clean & comfortable as you would expect. The staff immediately provided a wheelchair for my mother upon request, who couldn't keep up with our pace while sightseeing, so that made life so much easier. Can't wait to go back, everyone deserves to be spoilt for a while :)

Room Tip: Club Room is a must!
