My wife and I were in Sydney for 5 nights and we spent them at the Hyde Park Inn in Sydney. We were there Friday night through Tuesday night. We were on the 7th floor in room 707 facing the park in a deluxe room.

There have been many reviews and many complain about the noise. We had one of the renovated rooms. I have traveled internationally and around the USA for business plus we do a lot of personal travel. This is by far one of the very best places we’ve stayed.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Check-in and Check-out was fast and easy.

The room was comfortable and the climate control system worked great. We normally use ear plugs but we found the room to be very quite even though it is over a busy street and park and we were there over a Friday and Saturday night. There was plenty of closet and drawer space for cloths and things. The room was huge and it was great having a range, oven, microwave, and refrigerator. The bathroom was spacious and there was plenty of water pressure. The hot water was excellent and available quickly. All the rooms on our floor were occupied and we never heard any of our neighbors.

They have free laundry for guests off the first floor and we used it several times. Internet is not free and maybe a little pricy but it was fast!

An in room breakfast is included. In was adequate for us. It consisted of small orange juice cups, fruit cups, bread with butter and spreads, and cereal and milk. For use this was fine especially with how expensive Australia is. We would eat breakfast there and then go out exploring. We would have a big lunch out wherever we were and then come back and stop by a market and get some thing to take back to the room and fix a light dinner there.

The location is great. It is within easy walking distance to Circular Quay and the Museum subway station is right on the corner and it is one hop to the Central Station that takes you any where or you are two stops to Circular Quay. There are several places right next door to get carry out to take to your room and a Bottle Shop just a block away. A full supermarket is only 2 blocks away as well.

For the price, location, staff, and quality of the room made this a top choice for us. We loved it and would go back there in a heart beat.

Stayed here for 2 nights. On business in Sydney and needed basic cooking facilities. We booked a double and were allocated a large room (one queen, 2 singles and a divan). Room was clean and the bathroom had recently been refurbished so was lovely and new. New carpets too. There was a small balcony overlooking Hyde Park but when the door was open it was fairly noisy but very good double glazed windows and door resulted in very low noise inside room when closed. There was some work going on refurbishing rooms in the floor above us but we were warned about possible extra noise at the time of making the booking. It didn't bother us at all. Great value as the room included a basic breakfast (juice, bread for toast, cereal and milk, fruit) as well as car parking (although the carpark was very tight). Location is good too. Reception staff seemed nice although apart my checking in and out we didn't have any contact with them. Not five star but it's clean, well positioned and quiet. Very good value for money. We'll definitely stay here again.

This hotel had everything you could want for central Sydney. The location is great with lovely views across Hyde Park and a short stroll to the main shops along the way to the harbour. It is good value as the kitchenettes provide everything you need to eat in the rooms and save on costly meals out. Some people have moaned about the breakfast but if you already know what to expect what is there to complain about? Each day the room is re-stocked with biscuits, cereals, milk, fruit juice, and fruit. You also receive a complimentary newspaper. There is a launderette with plenty of washing machines and dryers in the basement and ironing boards and irons in the rooms which is great if you are travelling around as we were.

We've stayed here twice now, and will return. The Hyde Park Inn is good value - in fact it is excellent value considering its central location. I liked being on the park, and on the free bus line. The free parking was good, as we had a hire car, but the free bus was also a bonus when we wanted to head to Chinatown or Circular Quay. Cooking facilities in the rooms were adequate, and the free clothes washing facilities were also useful. The only major criticism was the lack of free internet.
