“Nice view, great service but a couple of niggles”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

I am a big fan of the Four Seasons chain and have never been disappointed with any of the ones I have had the pleasure of staying at. This one is definitely up to the level of the other ones I have stayed at except that it is in a city center. It is right next to the rocks which have great restaurants and bars and very close to great shopping.

In terms of the room, splurge for the view....my business partner was absolutely regretful that he didn't do the same. The bed was great, the bathroom immaculate, and the TV had enough channels so that I didn't mind hanging out in the room on one of the rainy days we had in Sydney.

The service was A-1 from the front desk, to house keeping, to the concierge.

My two niggles were minor but I think in need of response:

1. The price charged for wifi bordered on extortion. Not only did they have the nerve to charge more than $20 a day for internet they had to the gaul to give you the option to pay for one internet option that allowed one the ability to watch video or another that offered limited bandwith. Give me a break! The other 3, 4, and 5 star hotels in Sydney don't do this why would the Four Seasons resort to such shenanigans for the sake of a buck. Trust me your clients know when they are being nickel and dimed and this is absolutely shameless.

2. How is there nobody at the pool to service the guests? There was just a sign on a phone that asked guests to call in their food and drink orders. So every time I wanted a drink I had to get out of the pool and run over to the phone like a hobo and beg room service for a drink? It should be the other way around because god knows you are paying for it.

Overall I had a wonderful stay but I would suggest improving the two niggles above...especially the internet extortion.

I hope this helps

“ehhhhh...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

The hotel service was really wonderful, we found all of the staff to be extremely helpful. I was not very impressed with the rooms we had though - they seemed both dated and small. Had it not been a Four Seasons, my expectations might have been less, but I was dissapointed with the rooms when we arrived. Our view of the harbor was nice, and the hotel is in a great location in relation to the harbor and shopping. Overall...it was ehhhh...

“The way hotels used to be”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

From the moment we arrived at this hotel we felt welcomed and relaxed. This hotel reminded me of what hotel service used to be. A proper driveway horseshoe you can drive into. A well dressed man snaps into action to guide you to a sensible spot. They casually great you and offer assistance. There is no rushing to grab your key and disappear with your car or opening the boot before the cars even stopped or fighting the taxis for position (they're kept well away until needed).

The huge reception area was always stocked with staff meaning we never once waited to be served and were always greeted in a relaxed and friendly manner. It was a almost a shame because it was such a beautiful and spacious foyer I could have admired it for longer. Check in was hassle free and we headed up to the room.

The room we stayed in at the Four Seasons was not huge but that was fine. It also had little in the way of a view despite being a harbour view room so if it's your first time in Sydney and that's important then let the staff know. What it did have though was exactly what I want in a hotel; a lovely and clean bathroom, a big comfortable bed, a clear work area off to the side, a couple of “chill-out chairs” and a modern TV with decent news channels.

The think that really impressed me with the hotel was the little extras that you just don't get in most decent hotels any more like an international power adaptor, shoe shine service and proper wooden coat hangers that you can take off the rail. It's always nice not to be treated like a criminal by your hotel. It also had the biggest safe I've ever seen in a hotel, plenty of cupboard space, a TV you can plug your own devices into, ice brought in daily, a TIME magazine waiting and my choice of complimentary (yes, complimentary) newspaper.

Truly wonderful. My new favourite hotel in Sydney.

Room Tip: Ask for a view if that's important to you as not all rooms have it.

“Memorable one night getaway in a great sydney location.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

We stayed at the Four Seasons Hotel in Sydney for one night. The staff were extremely friendly and the room was beautiful. I highly recommend the Executive Club Lounge it is an amazing view and the food and drinks are fantastic. If you do get this included in your package you do not need to get breakfast included as the executive club lounge includes breakfast.
We will be going back to the Four Seasons.

Room Tip: Due to the great location of the hotel we did not spend alot of time in the room but if you want vie...
