“Just too small”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

We stayed for one night in a petite suite. One side of the queen sized bed was up against the wall making access to it a bit tricky. There was very little room to store two people's luggage. We used the iron and ironing board but with this erected in the only available space, it was very difficult moving between the kitchen sink and the ironing board. Similarly, there was nowhere to place toiletries in the bathroom, it also being pretty small. While the bedroom itself was clean, the bathroom could do with a srub or a refit because the shower tiling especially at the join between floor and walls was grubby. It took a long while before the shower water became hot ( what a waste of water!). Because of the awkward shape of the room, the airconditioner blows more of the cool air to the window side of the bed and too little to the wall side of the bed. So, my huband froze while I was too hot for much of the night. This probably suggests that that the room is really for one rather than two people. I suggest that the room not be marketed as an apartment and thus get rid of the kitchen bench. The room would then still be 'petite' but at least there would be room to store luggage.

“Great Value, Great Location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

Not much to add from other positive reviews. This is great value for the area – and for both work related or holiday travel this is a great location. It’s close to the train station (about 200m), across the road from the green grocer Harris Farms (so you will have use for the fridge and kitchenette in your room) and so close to some of Sydney’s better and more fun restaurants.

Yes the rooms are small, but perfectly formed. For one person you could easily stay there a few days. Service pleasant and efficient. And did I mention the kitchenette?

“Beautifully decorated and great rooms! Location is very near the cross though”

Great staff, lovely rooms which include a stove/fridge/microwave/kettle/toaster. Very nicely decorated. It's only a couple of minutes to kings cross station which is convenient provided you don't mind being right near the cross.

“Good for business travel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

I stay here for about 30 nights per year and the reason I do is because the rooms are clean, it's one train stop from the CBD and there's plenty of quality restaurants within walking distance. There's a great little supermarket across the road where you can by fresh produce including seafood. The bed was very comfortable and had various pillows so there was no problem sleeping. I highly recommend the Quest as ahome away from home.

Room Tip: Ask for a room from the second floor up as the mobile reception is a bit weak on the ground floor.

“This hotel was disappointing due to the incredibly small rooms and bathrooms.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2012

Thought the hotel decor was nice and clean for the most part, the rooms were insanely small. We had a "superior suite" which was so small that my husband and I could barely move about the room without tripping over the bed. The bathroom isn't really even separate from the room. It is merely sectioned off by two smoked glass panels. The shower is just the same level as the bathroom floor, merely separated by a curtain, which causes the shower water to flood the entire bathroom. We had a large cockroach come up through the drain on night 1. That was gross, though maybe not uncommon in Sydney. I felt that though the location was excellent and the place was moderately clean and well decorated- the value was poor. $180/night should get you much farther.
