My family and myself stayed for 5 nights, 01/01/12 – 06/01/12. Not a cheap hotel at over $AU600 per night.
During this stay we had a number of problems with the room and the service we received when attempting to resolve them. I travel extensively and this hotel is the worst I have EVER stayed in. I have stayed in a number of BreakFree hotels and have always found them to be of a high and acceptable standard. This hotel has left me with doubts regarding what is happening to the chain and if we will use them again.
We had cockroaches, Insects in the beds, faulty appliances, dangerous gas hob, faulty Fire Alarm and insufficient kitchen items for the 6 people booked into the room. Maintenance tried multiple time to convince us it was us, and in the end agreed that there were problems. General staff approach was unhelpful and bordering on condescending.
Have connected Nathan the general manager, who has apparently investigated the problems and has found no issue with the room or appliances.
This hotel is part of a well respected chain, but is not one I would recommend to anyone

I am naturally disappointed to receive your concerns on the insect issue and maintenance problems during your stay. Please do accept my sincere apology for the inconvenience or disappointment you and your family were caused.
I have completed further investigation and have personally checked this particular room, as has my Housekeeping Manager, and during your stay numerous members of my staff. We all did not see or have been able to identify any cockroaches, silverfish or bed bugs, or even any signs of them. It is very rare to see any in this Hotel, as we do have a monthly pest control schedule in place. We did, however, have a issue in Sydney with a large fruit fly type insect that numerous Hotels of height have been commenting on. Unfortunately everything we have tried to stop them entering the Hotel, hasn’t really worked. All we can do is to continually spray the rooms.
During the lead up to the Christmas period, we did do a lot of maintenance checks, especially in the 2 Bedroom Apartments. We had thought that all equipment was working okay, but sometimes the only time we really know there is an issue with these large items, is when a guest uses them. In your circumstances it was unfortunate that they all seems to happen at the same time and over a period where we were unable to have service technicians attend. Again, I can only apologise for this, but it was also the reason we wanted you to move an another room, where everything was working well.
While unable to prevent the disappointment of your last stay I do hope we are given the opportunity to host you again when next in Sydney. If so I would be delighted to offer 2 nights complimentary accommodation on your next visit.
