“Basically good…”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 January 2010

Basically good…but the website and brochure are a touch misleading. The positives are that it was a very family friendly location that allowed our three families hiring three huts side by side meaning the kids could go between the huts easily and safely. The pool was refreshing and BBQ area great. The ducks and lizards entertained the kiddies as well.

On the down side the huts are in major need of wholesale cleaning and refurbishment. The walls were stained and there were unpleasant smells throughout. The window shades were broken and the door locks did not function 100% of the time. The linen was tired with the furniture and bedspreads left you with that not so fresh feeling. There are no ovens or dish washers in the “full service kitchens” limiting your options for eating in. Also, the brochure mentions a stroll to the beach…with two kids, beach gear etc – not a chance. 5 min drive at a minimum.

If the accommodation was advertised (and priced) at 2-3 star serviced apartments this would not be an issue, however, they are advertised as 4 star luxury bures and we paid a premium 4 star price for the experience.

“Great Place for a restful time”

The 2 bedroom bure we had on the pond here was great. It was really roomy and clean and having the full kitchen was great. We had cars with us so distance from anywhere was no problem. It was a really nice quiet relaxing few days. Staff were really nice and helpful.

“Comfortable home away from home”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 June 2008

Exactly what I expected from the bookings website. Comfortable, 2 bedroom, spa bath, kitchen, lounge / dining, large deck and parking. Having a full kitchen made for easy food options rather than the never ending eating out saga. Owners helpful and friendly. Only gripe...insects! but being surrounded by nature and in Australia somewhat inevitable!
