Wow, what a place, had the most fun at this hostel didn't want to leave!! Direct beach access (perfect for campfires at night) brilliant bar with awesome offers for us backpackers $7.50 feeds every day on top of the extras they put on like $5 steak & 2 Middies, the rooms are clean with ensuite bathrooms, the staff at this place are the most friendly folk I've come across since being in Australia - Jimmy (the crab master) such a legend who made our stay so much fun, we had a great laugh with him and hope to stay in contact! Matt - well firstly he saved our a*ses and rescued us once we'd left and realised we were supposed to be staying in a tent for the night so were stranded, secondly just a genuinely sound bloke who brings all the backpackers together and creates such a friendly atmosphere. Frank was also very friendly and helpful! Basically I have nothing but good things to say about this hostel and the staff that work there! Highly recommened!! I will definately be going back!!!

Frank came to pick us up from the airport and show me around coffs on the way in.
The room was simple but spotlessly clean and with ensuite, Flatscreen TV, fridge and fan, there was nothing else needed and I slept really very well.
The Hoey Moey is literally 1 minute walk to a beautiful beach which i loved.
The Hoey Moey is attached to a very well run bar and restaurant, with great food and drink specials.
Frank and Matt went out of their way to help us and all the other staff were very friendly and helpful. I would stay here again and I would recommend that others stay here too.

This hostel seems great! Until you enter the kitchen...it is DISGUSTING! It is such a shame because the rooms are amazing! Along with the restaurant and bar, not to mention the direct beach access! It is a bit of a walk to the shopping plaza and restaurants. Coffs is a nice place, but If you're planning on cooking, stay away from this place!

I was shocked when I walked into the hostel to find it full of older people drinking and gambling, more so that there would be slot machines at a hostel meant for backpackers. After staying for a few days (one extra) I was offered a ride to my next destination and told that they could not refund my money. This was ridiculous as the hostel was not full and it had been an additional night to my original stay any how. Some of the service staff were fantastic, and others (specifically Frank) were rude and inconsiderate. I would not stay here again or recommend it. Truthfully there is nothing worth going to Coffs Harbour for, as Yamba and Port Macquarie are amazing and in both places you can find great accommodation and service. Due to the fact that it is full of long term workers there is not any type of hostel mentality and it is hard to get people to do things with. Don't waste your time or money. If you do decide to stay in coffs stay at Aussietown. I was able to get over there to visit a friend and it was much better and friendlier.
