I checked in for 1 night... and stayed much longer. I absolutely loved it. Everyone is your friend, ive been away for over a year and met some great people, but those at Aussitel will remain friends. The staff were fantastic, and couldnt do enough to help you and make you feel at home. There are things to do everyday and every night, although they arent pushy about it, I found that their 'all you can eat pancake night' was great fun, and a great way to meet fellow travels. Free Canoe, boogie board, skim boards, fishing rods etc. We even had a 'pub quiz' and punch night, even though this is not a party hostel, you can still have a good time with a small group of like minded people, but when you wanted to sleep the noise from, the social area never drifted back to the dorms, and then I could just crash out and watch any film for free!!. We stayed at Aussitel in a 6 bed dorm for 2 nights and enjoyed it. We aren't looking for partying and so have been trying to avoid larger hostels and this was good. The rooms were clean and the bathrooms were too. The kitchen had a few little cockroachs and flies but on the whole was clean and reasonably well equipped.

The guests were mostly travelling passing through between Sydney/Newcastle and Bryon Bay and everyone was friendly. The staff are the real asset of this place as Frank and co helped sort out onward travel (when we thought we'd be sleeping on the beach in Bryon) and trips. They have been backpackers themselves but have setled down for a bit and so bring experience and a continuity to the place.

The location is about a 15 minute walk from the beach/harbour but nearer to town for it and the river is right next door if you want to borrow a canoe for the day.

If you want some night life it's in the form of the fellow travellers as they is plenty of space and due to the layout noise doesn't travel to the rooms allowing the hostel to cater for all.

Would definitely stay here again.

Ok, so I'll start with the good. The hostel is small but cozy, its a bit like staying in someones house(Which you may not like) which makes it easy to meet people. Now the bad! Its in quite a bad location because even though its a 10 minute walk to the beach its a good 30 minute walk to anything else. The rooms are dirty(like prison cells), as is the rest of the hostel. The kitchen is infested with cockroaches(one night i counted 35). The staff were freindly enough but Ian the manager was a bit sleazy and threw a few of the young female guests in the pool so make sure you dont have your phone on you. All in all this hostel is ok for a night or two, but it really just depends on what your looking for. Chloe B.

We were a little weary about this hostel after the two previous ones, but were pleasantly surprised.

The staff were really helpful, the kitchen was clean, the dorms were clean although a little small for 6, the common areas and the pool were great.

This was a nice hostel and Coffs is a great place, I'll definitely be staying there again.
