“Very tired apartment”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

We stayed here for one night in a 3 bedroom apartment with lake views, the room faced west so had the hot afternoon sun and the airconditioner did not work. The apartment was clean but stripped bare of all paintings, and seemed half furnished.
My daughter left an expensive triathlon suit there which they claimed to of mailed to us 2 weeks ago but still no sign of.
Central location, big rooms but definitely in need of a face lift

“Maintenance condition very poor!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

As a retired airline pilot I have stayed in hundreds of rooms in the past 45 years. The maintenance condition of this apartment was one of the worst I have seen. In the en-suite bathroom, the towel rail fixture to the wall was broken, as was the soap dish and the shower height-adjustment bar. The towel rail in the main bathroom was also hanging off the wall as well as the telephone plug in the lounge room. There were no shelves or drawers in the en-suite dressing room and the refrigerator had a broken shelf which had been repaired with a cable-tie! Needless to say that it took just 3 bottles of beer to test the amateurish repair and crash to the ground. A list of these items was given to the hotel desk before departure.

“A lovely 2 bedroom apartment overlooking the lake”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2012

We haven't been to Canberra for a while and thought that it would be lovely to have a couple of days there. We found this and was very good value for such a large apartment.
The apartment was spacious and very clean with a beautiful view over the capital. There was a modern flat screen television with a great variety of channels.
This is not a five star establishment and some of the furniture was a little tired however it was exactly what we wanted.

The supermarket / cafe across the road was brilliant and we had brekfast there twice. Everything was within walking distance. The Canberra Centre has all the essentials and is only 2 km's away

“Beware!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2012

We had a stay here for one night as a stop over on our travels. We booked through wotif.com and it was advertised as a 2 brm room worth $600/night. We paid a lot less but booked it thinking if it was normally that price it would be something special!

We were so disappointed and glad it was only for 1 night. Whilst we had a room on the 19th floor with views over the city side it was a very tired and neglected apartment with peeling paint, terrible decor and desperately in need of a lot of work. The shower was over a bath and we had to bend down to use it, and we are not tall at all! Our phone didn't work and when we told reception we were told they could fix the next day sometime.

Would not stay here again.

“Don't bother staying in the accommodation”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 January 2012

Stayed in the Capitol Tower for 23 days with work in a 3 bedroom apartment. Nice large rooms but very poor standard of condition and furniture, no draws or cabinets to put cloths away and when we asked the reception for additional stuff we were told that they had none and that the apartments were furnished by the owners. House keeping very hit and miss, 5 or 6 maids would decend on the apartment and do very little. I would not stay at the accommodation again.
