“Beautifull seaview”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

We spend 4 nights and stayed in the Panorama Suite 18, which in our opinion was probably the best room in the house. Very spacious, separate livingroom and bedroom, amazing and spacious bathroom and large balcony with uninterupted seaviews. In the evening we were able to see the sun set in the Atlantic Ocean from our room and we could hear the waves crash on the rocks, only 150 meters from the house. Great location if you want to be close to the sea but still in a quiet location. Not even 5 minutes drive to the busy Camps Bay beach with plenty of restaurants and bars. Very nice breakfast and friendly staff. If you are looking for a nice, unpretentious place in Camps Bay that is affordable but does offer an amazing seaview, then Ocean View House is perfect.

Room Tip: The rooms on the higher level where the pool is have better seaview. I would not recommend the poold...

“Can't recommend enough!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

Very easy to find. We stayed here for 2 nights at the end of our trip. We were very pleasantly suprised to be upgraded to a fantastic suite but by all accounts all of the rooms are amazing with great views. My only regret was that we were not there longer to enjoy the pool and relax. All the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The accommodation is spotless with a great choice at breakfast. The gardens are beautiful and as mentioned before the views of the ocean and 12 apostles are amazing. Great to sit on the balcony with a sundowner. Located about a mile from the bars/restaurants of Camps Bay which is a pleasant walk although taxis are very cheap. Great base to explore all that Cape Town has to offer. Would highly recommend.

Room Tip: All rooms furnished and decorated to a high standard, would depend on your personal choice and budge...

“Great place to stay”

We finished our South African trip with a relaxing stay at Ocean View. We were impressed by the very helpful staff, well-equipped room and bathroom and the beautiful gardens. The breakfast was wonderful with the best fruits and croissants we had in all our holiday, together with a choice of cooked delights to order. It was a pleasure to cool down in the pool after a hard day sight-seeing and we welcomed the walk to the culinary delights of the Camps Bay restaurants in the evening. Our room opened onto the gardens and looked across the bay to the evening sunset idyllic. The hotel is positioned on the outskirts of Camps Bay from where you can catch the hop-on hop-off bus to the attractions of the Waterfront, city centre, Tablle Mountain, Kirstenbosh and the Constantia winelands. Very convenient and very good value.

“Lovely introduction to South Africa”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

We stayed here for 3 nights on arriving from the UK. We had a lovely pool deck room. The food was exceptional and cooked freshly to order. The chef was very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. As it was raining when we arrived he brought a map to our table after breakfast with suggestions of where to visit. The hotel is well positioned near Camps Bay (which even has a small theatre with restaurant, so we saw 'The Mousetrap' there one night). Easy to access Cape Town without being in it, for the V & A Waterfront and boat trips to Robben Island. Also handy for Cape Point day out and Table Mountain a short drive away

All in all, a lovely stay.

“Lovely place in picturesque scenery”

We stayed at the Ocean View Guest House during our second stay in Cape Town, and at the same time the last 4 days in South Africa, mid-September 2011. We booked the Panorama suite and had two rooms with a big balcony and beautiful bathroom. The third bed was made in the living room at no additional cost and the service was very attentive. Breakfast was always very good. We had the most fantastic sunsets seen from that balcony and enjoyed our stay very much. The only drawback for us was the queen size bed as it is really tight for two adults (and a tall man). I can totally recommend that Guest House if you want to escape the city center and enjoy the lovely Camps Bay Beaches.

Dear Biaci,
Thank you for your feedback. We do value all comments and strive to improve in all areas all the time. We are therefore very pleased to announce that we have now replaced the Queen size bed in the Panorama Suite 18 with 2 Single beds which can be used as twin beds or as one big King Size bed!
May be one day you will be able to return to Ocean View House and enjoy the difference and in the meanwhile I am sure fellow guests will appreciate the bigger bed! ;-)
Happy Holidays
