We go to this hotel every year, either in June or September, to seek calm and total care in a family run atmosphere. The staff are exceptional, lovely rooms, exquisite linen and informal elegance. The home-cooked food is delicious without being pretentious.Well tended gardens to relax in, several quiet terraces overlooking the sea, this is a place to treasure.

We stayed at Villa Cheta Elite between August 31st and September 4th 2011. We were three couples and we had an excellent stay. The rooms were nice and clean with small balconies and a seaview. My wife and I had a room with a small terrasse that we liked a lot. However we didn't stay much in our room as the gardens of the hotel were wonderful. Everything in this hotel is cosy and romantik. The terrasse where we used to have our breakfast is very nice and more interestingly was the dinner terrasse where you can enjoy the best view in Maratea. The food was excellent and the staff were very helpful. They went our their way to help us everytime that we needed something. The hotel owner is there most of the time and he is really a gentleman. The music that they use to put starting late afternoon and till midnight is also well chosen. They took care of all the details. To summarize, we enjoyed a lot our stay at Villa Cheta Elite and we will definitively repeat it.

A lovely restored liberty villa on the Basilicata coast south of Naples. The staff couldn't have been more professional or helpful. The kids were back in school in Italy and the swimming at La Secca Solarium Il Mirto a short drive down the coast was superb. Loved our short break there. Lovely!

This is one of the best places we have stayed during our trip to Italy. The staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly, helping us to carry the heavy luggage and teaching our one-year old daughter how to say "ciao". The room was a bit small but very charming and cozy, making you feel relaxed and totally at home. Above all, we loved the courtyard with its morning sunshine and evening sunset looking over the hilltops and vast blue sea - very very romantic. We enjoyed having dinner there with fresh sea breeze blowing in the face and trains "choo chooing" in the mountain tops. The food was also very good; we could hardly find a place in Italy serving better vegetable soup, mussels and dessert. Although it is advisable to bring your own mosquito spray, especially in the evening, to avoid becoming dessert yourself. We would highly recommend this hotel for anyone searching for a romantic shelter by the sea in Maratea.
