this is a motel
this isn't a North American Best western
It was cold - July is the dead of winter here. i think it was 6C outside...brrrrrrr
indoor heating isn't something done well in NZ
they have heat pumps if you're lucky. basically this doubles as the air conditioner
despite trying to turn on the heat pump to 30 C we were still cold
we stayed one night
our room was basically across the reception desk - our door was a sliding glass door
that was the only window to the outside
the room had a queen bed, TV, sink, electric kettle
the bed can be warmed by electric blankets that we encountered for the first time in our lives
alot of people in NZ use electric blankets
the bathroom is one big room with a toilet right beside the shower right beside the sink
there is a curtain (no tub) between the shower and the toilet/sink
water goes everywhere still
nice toiletries though - honey scented
overall not a great place to stay
this is a north american 2 star place
internet was extra - i think 10 dollars
NZ hopefully will start offering free internet with hotel stays
keep your fingers crossed
there is a restaurant in the motel main lobby
people at the desk were helpful
there is a small outdoor pool...i think you can use it year round - you can see the road from the pool
