We (two senior ladies) stayed here 2 nights in mid March. It was favorably recommended in the Lonely Planet Mexico and we just walked in . . . there were plenty of rooms. We looked at several, same amenities, different sizes, and settled on room 10.
We paid 250 pesos ($22.73) for room 10 (up one flight of stairs)with two double beds, tile floors, a/c and a ceiling fan, table, TV (no remote), glassed-in shower, and huge sink. The sink and tiles around it were Talavera, very pretty. There was a cool and plant-filled patio/sitting area right outside our room.
The posada was nothing special but it was clean and cool . . . and quiet (maybe because there were hardly any other guests). It was just a block or two from the main park and the main street of Palenque.
The hotel personnel speak very little English but try to be helpful. Breakfast is not included but they do have a small restaurant (wasn't open when we wanted breakfast).
