The rooms were spacious and confortable - the only problem was an airconditioner that was a bit too effective and that is wasn't possible to regulate it. It was either on or off. We had to get up in the middle of the night to turn it off. But, as they have an insect screen on the balcony door, it works fine to sleep with the door open. The pool area was nice, and had a slide which kids will like. The breakfast was average.
The hotel is located just along the main road outside Palenque - and it feels a bit in the middle of no where. We stayed here for a night and were here just to see the archeological sight. If that's your destination, the location is fine.

The hotel was very easy to find, it was the first hotel on the right when you drive into the center of Palenque. It is located just enough away from the road, so you dont hear much noise. The hotel is close to a big supermarket and an easy drive to the ruins.

Overall feel of the lobby, pool area etc. is quite lovely, with a jungle setting on one side. Rooms were big and comfortable, with nice beds and tv. We had a great dinner at the restaurant outside (although there are many mosquitoes, so protect yourself) and a good breakfast too.

I just finished a beautiful trip around south mexico with my family, we are used to traval in all type of hotels around the world, from typical hotels, to five star palaces.

We have booked this hotel for one night, the 31st decembre, NYE....and what disappointment!

First, you better speak spanish, because NO ONE speaks one word of english or french or any other languages, its unbelievable, because Palenque is a touristic destination only and you expect at least some level of professionalism when you checkin.

We have stayed before in San Cristobal de Las casas for two nights, beautiful town, but the same hotel chain (Ciuadad Real) have lost our reservation at the other hotel - please read other review, and when we arrived in this hotel, we again had problems, whereas we never have issues usually when booking via internet.

First of all, they advertised a big NYE party, with buffets and festivities, forget about it! Nothing was prepared, although advertised at the entrance, when we enquired about it, they just said its not going to happen, probably because not enough people staying in the hotel (peak of tourist season, christmas holiday), we ended up eating at their restaurant, average food, waiters dont speak english (we are belgians, but of course french is not part of their vocabulary either) and the atsmosphere was just aweful.
They prepared a small buffet, but when we asked to have it, they said it was for a group of people (tour) only!

Then; out of two rooms, one room had one 17year old child, we requested a second bed, and for the first time in my life, they said that they have beds, but they cant give one to us, asked us to sleep in the same bed...

Then at check out, as per other previous reviews, we had mistakes in our bill, and of course because they didnt understand us, couldnt help us, asked to send an email, something tells me we will need more than one email to solve this issues when back home. (currently enjoying last days on the maya riviera).

Try to avoid this place....

A small but well managed hotel tucked away at the end of a descending driveway. Very clean and comfortable, huge rooms, very well maintained, excellent outdoors dining at their restaurant. Allover fantastic value for the money. They also have a resident howler monkey and a small pool with a few crocodiles and turtles.

Only problem was we booked the hotel at a reduced rate ( a tourism promotion) but at checkout the receptionist ( who didn't seem very bright) did not know how to override the computer's system which charged us full price and was refusing to make any effort to get help. After arguing with her for 5 minutes it was like talking to a parrot who only repeated what she knew without actually trying to listen to us. We paid the full price because we had a long day ahead of us and had no further time to argue with her.
