Hotel is very new, not in contemporary style though, decor is rather old fashioned/traditional - overall design doesn't seem very well thought out (why is there no step free access from the lobby to ground floor rooms?)

Hotel was very empty during our recent stay there and had a very "soul-less" feel about it.

Location is pretty poor, just off the ring road in the middle of nowhere, a long way from the city centre (or the airport). Very little in the way of amenities located nearby. Though to be fair most of the larger hotels in Villahermosa are not in the town centre.

Rooms however are very large and comfortable (we stayed in a "Gran Classe" room) - though somewhat strangely decorated - (what were they thinking with the blue plastic sofa)

Not a bad hotel by any means, main drawback is the location

I second the earlier review and will try to add some touches of luxury and service that we received during this Christmas stay. First off the public areas are just so elegant and beautiful. You are offered a glass of wine while checking in. We were upgraded to the gran clase suite with a jacuzzi tub and seperate shower. The room was large with a flat screen tv. We received a welcome letter and they have turndown service at night with chocolates. We had Christmas dinner in the restaurant and it was the best meal I have ever had in Mexico. During our stay everyone was very helpful. On our last night we received a complimentary gift of some chocolate covered strawberries. In the morning with the wake up call they sent some complimentary coffee. Room service was excellent. You just can't go wrong with the Quinta Real! Oh all this costs $ :) I missed the hotel when I got back though and can't wait to go back.

The hotel opened in June of 2006 so everything is brand new. The artwork and the decorations are fabolous. There is even a "pillow menu" with 6 different types of pillows.

The staff's english is better than most places and they really go out of their way to please.

The mattress is the best I've slept on in Mexico so far!

Since its so new, things are still being constructed (hammering during the day), no "Tobbaco Shop" yet ---so you are limited to the mini-bar for that extra snack (or room service) and the pools are still being outfitted (water is in the hole but no chairs etc around the pool).


The linens and towels are super soft! This is a 6-star hotel !
