We were staying in a villa and decided to visit this hotel for snorkelling and to consider staying at the hotel on a future visit. Firstly the staff in the grounds were totally inexperienced. Then we saw the swimming pool - a definate death trap. It was green and so cloudy you could not see the bottom. The water was completly still - filters not working. The toilets were a disgrace - my grandson felt it more hygenic NOT to wash his hands!! Finally the beach was full of litter.
Our view - if this is how the hotel looks after its grounds how clean is the inside and kitchens. We did not bother to find out.
Anyone thinking of staying here - do check thoroughly before booking.

Being not one to complain, I find it very difficult to say, but this 3 night experience at Arnos Vale for totally horrendous!!! The lady owner had an attitude - "I am never wrong"
Staff tried in very difficult circumstances to make good! The room has obviously been broken into and a very poor job done on the repair. Food, in short supply, due to the fact we were one couple of three staying in the whole hotel complex, was I can only compare to poor school dinners! One good thing - you would never put on weight! The whole experience was over by 8.10pm at latest - no red wine available either to help with trying to sleep. We had to resort to playing cards till boredom alone ensured you could not care if your room was broken into whilst you slept! Pictures on the brochure showed a totally different experience. Unfortunately not what was delivered.

Only went to the hotel to access the beach (for which they charge) and for tea (for which they overcharge!) I think we paid about £40 for tea for 4 which was supposed to include sandwiches and cake but they 'didnt have any bread' (!) and we were charged the full amount anyway! They cake was not even home made! We enjoyed seeing the birds, which is of course what one is really paying for. The beach offers great snorkling but we were hassled by a young guy in a torn T shirt for the beach fee. The hotel didnt even provide him with a uniform shirt or any ID or receipts to give out. Incredible to think this was once one of the best hotels in Tobago. The place was deserted, the pool dirty, and I feel so sorry for unsuspecting couples booking a honeymoon here - its awful!

We recently visited the Arnos Vale resort and was disappointed by the shabby area and most disrespectful and discourteous owner. The experience simply put was horrible. Our group of 8 young adults were totally dissatisfied with the facility and weren't inclined to stay even for 20min. We simply returned to our vehicles and left for the most gorgeous Top of Tobago experience where management would be more appreciative of our TT dollars. I would strongly advise any visitor to stay far away from Arnos Vale Resort and the extremely distasteful swimming pool . Its not worth the time, energy and money and the website is an exaggeration of the reality that is. Thank God we did not pay the 20tt entrance fee that was requested to enter the compound. That would have been even more painful.
