Pleasant hotel set in its own grounds but near noisy roads. Plenty of parking space. Run by friendly couple who speak excellent English. No lift. Rooms ok, super shower but bathroom door would not close. Delicious smell of cooking when we arrived but there is no restaurant! Nearest is 2.5 km away in the old city. Excellent buffet breakfast - there was even a bowl of walnuts. You need to be eagle-eyed to spot direction signs to the hotel.

Villa Marjane is a lovely little hotel on the outskirts of Orleans. The room was nicely decorated with a good sized bathroom and both very clean and well appointed. The owners were very friendly and helpful, and although there is no restaurant there is a small salon where you could get a drink in the evening. Breakfast is served in a pleasant conservatory area - there was also outdoor seating, but unfortunately on the 2 mornings we were there the weather did its worst.

The only problem was actually getting there. We would recommend getting hold of a detailed map of Orleans before you go - it's a nightmare of one-way streets and there are hardly any sign-posts to St Jean le Blanc.

We stayed in several hotels during our trip and this was one of the best two places we stayed. Would definitely recommend.
