Ok, so it was rainy when we arrived and the receptionist did not seem very friendly, but she did offer us wine. When we checked into our room I thought, this is not worth the price. Again, due to the rain, we had dinner at their restaurant which seemed overpriced. (There are other restaurants in the area, and the staff will provide free transportation).
But luckily we stayed 2 nights. I felt completely different the next day. The sun came out and the view is spectacular! We had the complementary breakfast (very good- get the sticky buns and mini quiche) and attended the yoga class, then went to the beautiful pool. We had lunch at their restaurant which is much more reasonable, and it is on a beautiful patio overlooking the ocean. (The fish tacos and steak tacos are great). There is wine and cheese in the afternoon. There is also a short nature hike led by Stephen Copeland. He is very entertaining.
It turned out to be a very relaxing mini vacation. Of course we fit in fine since we went for my 60th birthday. Almost everyone is in this age category. Even so, keep in mind that one of the pools (the only one open during our stay) is clothes optional. It is not pleasant to see most 60 yr olds in the buff.
