We just returned from 10 days at El Ci Marina. The grounds were the most beautiful that we have encountered in any hotel we've stayed in Mexico. Unfortunately the weather was not the best - cloudy most of the time and at least some rain every day but 2. We heard that is very unusual for this time of year. The food was great; however, we would have liked an outdoor snack bar poolside. The lunch buffet was poolside, but inside so you had to have a shirt and shoes on. The Alcazar restaurant was absolutely wonderful, and we had no problems making a reservation. We felt the service was great, and cleanliness superb. We enjoyed the lobby bar music, especially Ariel Rossini, an outstanding saxophonist. He could give Kenny G a run for his money! We walked into Puerto Morelos a couple times (2 K), but the bus is only 50 cents each way. Also, some advice - don't book your snorkel tours from the hotel. We booked right at the pier in Puerto Morelos and it cost $25/person as opposed to about $50. There were only 3 of us on the boat, so it was great. We were a little disappointed with the beach. Normally when we go to the Riviera we spend lots of time in the water. Here the water had oodles of seaweed and junk floating in - maybe from the reef. A LOT of kids running around - an adults only pool would be nice. Evening shows were okay - magician was good though. Jacuzzi was not warm enough most of the time. Our room was 5th floor, so we had a great view of the pool/ocean. Appreciated the relative ease of finding a chair on the beach - most of the time had no problem. Don't know if we'll do this resort again.
