We stayed 4 nights on the 3rd floor of the newer Ojo de Agua apartment building. We stayed in this same 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom unit last year. The units are not completely finished, but you cannot beat the view, the location, and the size. We had hot showers, air conditioning, and a small kitchen area with full size refrigerator, and cooktop stove. Right on the beach in front of some of the best snorkeling, and only a short walk to the town square. The units were cleaned daily.

I am not sure about the other units, but ours still needed some light fixtures installed in the bedrooms, and there are wires coming out where I think ceiling fans will be installed .

Overall, this unit works great for our family (myself, husband, 2 daughters, and granddaughter), and I would return again tomorrow if I could.

I stayed at Ojo de Agua for 10 days and while it did provide a bed to sleep in and access to the beach, the love for this hotel stops there. We were charged more than we had 'bargained' for and the place is seriously run-down. Not as in the typical Mexican hotel way where there is normal wear and tear but as in there does not seem to be any consideration for ensuring the safety of guests. The room had wires hanging from the ceiling and a tempermental airconditioner--in JUNE!! This is a recipe for disaster. While the room with two double beds did have plenty of space for my friend and I, I would not recommend this hotel to people looking for a budget place to stay. There is 'budget' and then there is just plain disaster.

No, I would not stay here again. The staff was friendly, but I was charged more than expected, the room was in serious need of new furniture, carpet, curtains, and hot water would have been nice. No remote for the television, my ``view`` was of the ocean, but just below was the area where the staff hung out, got picked up and dropped off, hung out for breaks and it was noisy so wasn`t worth it to try and enjoy the view. Would not recommend this hotel to my friends.

The rooms, although adequate, are in serous need of maintenance. We were traveling with friends and rented two room on the 2nd floor. Both rooms had a strong musty smell. Our room had no hot water and no working light in the bathroom. Our friend's room had no running water at all. The pool was decent and beach was great. We only ate appetizers at the restaurant... the guacamole was excellent however the chips were stale.

If the hotel was maintained better this would be a decent budget option. But in it's current condition I would not recommend it to friends.
