Got a great deal on a flight down to Cancun and I always dreamed about diving the cenote's. I reserved a campsite with Acamaya and off I went (from Toronto). On arrival the owner never wrote the reservation down. The Husband and son who own the Acamaya reef treated me like a fugitive om the run from the law. Spent 4 nights camping and one night in one of their beach huts; i was bit by somethings (probably sand fleas in the bed); the linen had been changed but the blanket did not appear to have been changed for a long long time. The cooking facilities are pathetic and it is a really long walk into town where restaurants are.
This happened last year and it still bothers me so I am writing this review for a little pay back.

Ooh my God!!!!!, i cant even believe the coments i have red before about this place, its just perfect, but of course if u r a timeshare owner where u have 10 bellboys or golf carts, dont come and stay here.

The place is one of the lasts places like it self in this area, on the caribbean water, no more constructions going on in the sorroundings, the shade from the hotel next door (dreams) its not Acamaya's fault its Dream's fault by building a 5 stories hotel in a place like Puerto Morelos where u can only build 3 stories by law.

It's an ecological place, held by a nice family, with a realy nice bar, which has anything u need, sorry, i meen except for caviar or expensive champagne like timeshare owners like...

i totaly advise u to come here to enjoy a stressless place, a place where u can still see the stars on the sky!!! (if the Dreams hotel dont turn its huge lights on the beach area).

If you are looking for a nice place in puerto morelos and you dont like big hotel like I do, you will love that place. Its a small place were the cabanas are really clean and were the beach is just gorgeous. You are near of the little town of puerto morelos and between playa del carmen and cancun.
The family that own the place are really kind and offer you a good service.

I let my husband make this reservation since we could not get into our timeshare in playa del carmen. First of all, I agree with the others listing that say the owners are tring to sell this place and are not taking care of it. Every other day there was no toilet paper or paper towels in the community bathroom - yes community.... and the "outside" kitchen they call it, was dirty and had cobwebs in it, very dirty. I had to clean before I could cook anything. We went into town one day and came back and there were campers with tents in front of us under the palapas, not what I wanted to see on this vacation so if you like that environment, then this is for you. Although Daisey (the owner) is very nice, this place is just not being taken care of in many ways and is a 45 minute walk to town..... we finally rented a car to get around and to playa del carmen because we were bored at this place. It was very difficult to log-on to our computer also - not many bars on the screen would show up.
