Let me start with the positives of this hotel. The location is perfect, on the beach & close to town. Every room has a view. The rooms were a bit small, but adequate. There is parking and the showers were always hot and had great water pressure. There is an on-site dive shop, Aquanauts, which was convenient and offered great diving. They have wireless, but only available in the lobby. Puerto Morelos is a gem of a place to get away from the hustle of Cancun and Playa Del Carmen. Some issues we had with the hotel were that we reserved a mainfloor room and had a confirmation for that. Upon arriving, they stated it was not available. We ended up on the 3rd floor, which had wonderful views, but no patio/hammock to spend time on. They said because of the mix up they would give us 20% off breakfast. Also advertised is a fridge in the room and there wasn't one. We had a very dirty and stained comforter and the pillows were musty. Another couple staying here had a room that had been refurbished with everything new, ours was old. They must be in the process of refurbishing rooms. Also, when arriving, there was a large billboard advertisement in front of the hotel stating rooms were $750 peso per night and beach club was $150 peso per day (two for ones, snacks and long chairs). When asked about getting these rates, we were told they were only for locals. A bit frustrating since we felt that really wasn't the case. We would have spent most days at the beach here, but their drinks/snacks were much more expensive than most places on the beach and without the beach club discount, we chose to go else where. Their loss!! We would stay here again, but would make sure what they are "advertising" is really what you get!
