We greatly enjoyed the two nights we spent in this hotel in October. Location is great; well away from La Vella, and on the road up to the Natural Park and its spectacular walking.
Our room was fine, although the fitments were a bit dated, and the hair-dryer in the bathroom didn't work. We had a huge double bed with a really nice double duvet. The bathroom had a spa bath.
The real joys of the hotel, however were the restaurant, and the service we got at reception. Dinner in the restaurant was exceptional, and the menu changed daily. The €20 Menu del Dia was discounted €5 for residents, and was superb value. Adding in the €70 we paid for B&B made a total of €100 per night for two people.
Breakfast was excellent, with great variety, including hot dishes. One irritation was the coffee system. There's a DIY machine which grinds beans and makes fresh coffee at the press of a button. The result is good coffee, but the machine makes one cup at a time, the quantity is small so you need to double up, and the instructions are in Catalan. Picture the queues! This was not a great idea.
The team on reception were charming, and very helpful. Unfortunately there was a wedding party taking place on the Saturday afternoon we were there, with lots of music, so the entire ground floor was very noisy for several hours. Nothing the receptionists could do about that, of course.
There is ample parking at the hotel, and free wi-fi in the reception area.
This really is a decent hotel, albeit with the odd quirk. But the quality of food and overall service, and the prices we paid, made it tremendous value.
