Hotel is very nice but suffers a little in finish. The walls are a bit on the thin side, the beds are very firm (ok if you like this), there is noise from the road and people leaving the Irish Bar in the early hours, and reception could try harder e.g. did not provide picnic breakfast as requested on day of departure (6:30am) or fix a broken blind.

Aside from that everything is ok

We stayed at the Magic Massana on our very first skiing holiday. We were very impressed with the appearance of the hotel including the tasteful Christmas decorations. Our room was a decent size and was presented well with everything you would expect from a hotel room including compliementary toiletries, hairdryer etc.

The hotel provided a complimentary ski locker which is not always the case with other hotels (so we believe). This was convenient for storing our gear at the end of a busy day. As the gondola to the slopes is only minutes away this was also a useful bonus.

The food was ok, there was plenty of choice for everyone and included a hot and cold buffet. The service was ok as well, but not necessarily the four star service or food quality we've experienced in other hotels of the same rating.

The Irish bar attached to the hotel provided a convenient and comfortable place to chill after a days skiing, but what kind of Irish bar frequently runs out of Guinness and beer? We still managed to sip on the bottled beers and enjoyed many a game of pool and cards.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It provided the perfect base for our skiing holiday, especially as we had a short walk to the gondola and the ski bus stopped right outside the hotel. If you are travelling as a couple, family or group and want to focus on skiing and relaxing rather than raucous apres ski then this hotel won't let you down.
