The front of house staff were deliberately difficult. This hotel was booked through the Travel Republic. Despite the hotel being informed that we would not arrive until 10pm and that we would require food, when we arrived at 9:40 pm we were told that they could not give us food because their food licence expired at 9:30pm!! Throughout the stay the restaurant was often open after 9:30pm. I think that because it was a Sunday night they couldn't be bothered. When we asked where we could eat, they just shrugged their shoulders, and this was despite the fact that we had two seven years olds with us. They couldn't have cared less.
The food is the very worst i have ever had. I have never eaten prison food but I would honestly think it would be better. You got huge portions of what can only be described as disgusting muck. All the vegetables were tinned and you got tinned asparagus in everthing!! If its quantity and not quality that you you like, then this is the hotel for you.
The bedroom was clean, spacious but very stuffy despite having the window open all night. We all suffered from blocked noses during the night for some unexplained reason and it made sleeping very restless. As soon as we left the room the condition went away!! The room also had no chest of drawers only a wardrobe, so we all had to keep our clothes in our suitcases. Very strange.
The hotel was advertised as having parking but this is limited to only about eight cars. As there was not a space for us, we were told that we would have to use the public car park at the daily rate of £7 per day, so be aware that you budget for this amount and it soon adds up to a considerable amount if you are unlucky enough not to get a space. Also, be aware that there is a yellow boxed area in the car park for some unknown reason, and the police regularly tow cars away, and goodness only knows how much you would have to pay to get your car back.
Would we ever go back to this hotel, never, even wild horses could not drag us back!!
The saving grace was that the snow and skiing were great. The food and drink in the resort was very expensive, and the food generally very poor.
