Stayed in February.

Hired car in Girona and drove there. The road from girona to Andorra goes high through high mountain and is very bendy. No problem if not snowing but would be difficult in snow. In these conditions I would recommend heading south intiaitlly and picking main barcelona road to Andorra. The hotel will help you out to buy snowchains in the village if you get stuck there.

We had no snow chains, and again you would need thee to get to the magic as it is up a windy road. We found the hotel difficult to find as the map shows it to be on the left as you approach from spain, it is on the right at a roundabout near bank on right.

The hotel is very good.

We booked through internet stayed in apartments which were exceptional, cleaning material provided as well as kitche roll, and brand new.

We have kids and The lounge bed was the most comfortable and solid I have seen.

There is a bar and restaurant. The indoor swimming pool is large for andorra, and steam room sauna all new like the hotel.

Parking in basement at 18 euro per night is expensive but allows good access to your room.

We would stay again.

We have just returned from a stay at the new development, The magic hotel, canillo.(built next to magic apartments) As a new hotel it was as expected clean, food was very good, lots of choice both at breakfast and dinner, more than we expected comparing a lot of other eurpoean hotels we have stayed at. There were leisure facilities which were of a good standard.The staff were helpful(we arrived later than expected and as we had booked Half board when we arrived about 11pm they arranged for some food to be brought to our rooms for us). The only drawback was that it was up on the side of a hill,with a winding road leading up to it. We had a car which was helpful,although parking restricted at hotel if not willing to pay carparking charges (18euros/day when we were there.) The hotel did have a minibus service which run into the village(5mins drive). It was worth staying at and would go back again. There is still work ongoing at the hotel (building another block, presumably of apartments), also within Canillo itself lots of cranes around.
