“Keeps you in the clouds!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

We enjoyed our recent stay at Mugilu - everything that previous visitors say rings true. The property is unspoiled and back to nature, Chandan and Sapna are great hosts, the pets, especially Shunti, are adorable. If you would like to a place where the only sounds you hear are birds and crickets, the only illumination at night comes from stars, and the air is pure ... Mugilu is for you!

“Rejuvenating and a very refreshing holiday spot.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

I visited Sakleshpur to attend my friend's engagement during Feb, 2012. I was looking out for a place to stay and laze out for a day. I spotted this place through web and just decided to give it a try. Right from the booking till my exit from the cottage, I must admit that the hospitality of the owners ( Sapna and Chandan ) was one of the best of the kind that I have experienced so far. At the end, I seriously wished I had time and booking to stay there for a day more. They have three cottages which are very private, clean and awesomely located. There exists a "mission statement of Mugilu" in each cottage and I must say that they stand by it. The owners ensure that they do "whatever it takes" to keep the guests happy.

Cheers Chandan and Sapna.. You guys just rock !

Greetings,
Sandeep.

Room Tip: It doesn't really matter. All cottages are strategically located and well ventilated. Just drop...

“Planning to go back again!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 December 2011

Very homely place. Having only 3 cottages and the owner's plan of NOT extending it anymore ensures it remains a homely affair when you go there- especially 3 of your friends/families together. It becomes your own.... The owners always appeared to be one of us and so, we could speak about Bangalore, travel and other common interests... Moreover the friendly dogs helped the kids to get acquainted with this faithful animal- the chance they never got at City.
Best Experience: Excellent food always compelling us to go back to have some more ;)
The pristine land with never ending undulation

Room Tip: Get 3 families and book all 3 rooms- the entire resort is yours!

“Excelellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 December 2011

It was one of the most memorable holidays with my family. A small homestay with just 3 cottages in a coffee estate, so its not even commercial. Very comfortable cottages and rustic and done with lot of taste, Great view from the room as it overlooks the coffee estate and the beauty of Malnad. The owners Chandan & Sapna Gurukar make you feel as if you are in their house. Great food personally prepared by Sapna and great company of Chandan make it all special. The 3 dogs, especially Shunti also are proud to have us their guests. A good 4 hour drive from Bangalore and the road is very good too. I would love to go back and my 7 yr son had a great time with nature. Its a great place and just keep it up Sapna & Chandan.

“Wonderful Ambience & Refreshing Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 October 2011

The place has 3 cottages within a coffee plantation with a beautiful balcony, spacious room, spacious & ventilated bathrooms and a balcony with a mesmerising view.

A must see for nature lovers, the host Chandan & Sapna are really wonderful people to spend time with - who take care of you to their best. The employees around are always ready to help you out with anything - be it their ginger tea, biscuits, their greetings, and the details they share with. Besides you have their pets, mainly Shintu(Ginger) who will be happy to be around and guide you around the nearby visits.

The drive from Bangalore to Kunigul via Nelamangala is very good. After that - as its being expanded until Sakleshpur - the roads are good with little pot holes. You can expect about 5% of bad roads of the whole trip. This place is about 15Km from Sakleshpur. The last 1.5km is an off-road drive which you have to consider when you plan for - so have your car in good condition and the last drive a little cautious.

The food you can expect good tasty homely one - which you will like. Would suggest once you are in there - can plan to spend time around the plantation visiting the vast grasslands, walk to the nearby stream and the waters, walk within the plantations, and ofcourse a stretched out relaxation in the balcony with hot cup of tea.

We did so and after winding up from the cottage, went to the Hemavathi Back waters( its just a scenic place to enjoy) and the fort (again a climb of about 200 steps) with a view. Its only the nature that you would be able to appreciate.

The stay in the plantation would definitely be refreshing.

Room Tip: All 3 are good with orange, green and blue in that order.
