Me and my partner have just came back from a two night stay in cwrt bledden. we stayed in
room 31 (The vally room). open fire place, oak beams, queen size bed .It was very spacious
bags of character. Staff couldnt do enough to help you and all very pleasent.swimming pool was a little cold but very picturerisque, so jumped into jacuzzi and it was pure bliss. Sauna was a constant 100c, also very relaxing.
would recommend full english breakfast in bed as i felt like Henry V111. Amazing Hotel and Grounds.Compliments to the chef as it was the best usk vally sirloin i have ever tasted.
All in All you wont find better for the price. Awesome Job to all the staff at cwrt bledden keep up the top job you do.

“Not so excellent customer service!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

Well to start off, we did get an excellent dinner, bed and breakfast rate, and a free upgrade to a refurbised room, which was well decorated, clean & contained everything myself & partner needed! The Spa facilities, although pretty, were in need of a good update & Clean. Restaurant service was ok, nothing to make you say wow but polite & quick, food was lovely, would definately recommend the beef wellington, rack of lamb, and steak, delicious!! We were checked in by a girl called Amy, she was brilliant, so friendly and welcoming, told us everything we needed to know, and reommended some places to visit locally, the following morning we were 'greeted' by a grumpy, young & disinterested receptionist, who I think was called 'Leo', when I said 'good morning' she barely even glanced up, let alone greet us or ask how we slept etc.... later in the morning we went to get some directions from reception and she decided to look over at us waiting at the desk and then continue her gossiping session with the staff in the office, when we asked for some help she snapped that she wasn't allowed to print for guests (wasn't allowed or couldn't be bothered?!) luckily Amy was back in the afternoon & continued to make our stay a little better along with a lovely blonde girl in the restaurant who I didn't catch the name of, and a lady called Kate, sadly on check out, the same girl was on so we didn't feel we had the chance to resolve this, but on check out all she was interested in was getting our money & getting us out.... Serious lack of customer service, maybe lack of training or just plain rude, who doesn't at least say 'good morning'? I would return to the hotel, minus her!

Room Tip: Go the little extra for a refurbished or higher

Thank you for your review and I am so sorry that what would appear to have been a very enjoyable stay was spoilt by one of the team, and I have asked for this to be looked into as a matter of urgency.

We are only as good as our weakest link and I do hope you will accept my apologies. The feedback on the team as you can see from previous reviews is excellent.

Thank you and hope we see you again.

Kindest regards

Just stayed one night at the Cwrt Bleddyn Hotel and I have nothing but praise for the place
Was upgraded to an Executive room (rooms 6 and 17) which was the nicest room I have ever stayed in the bed was huge and the bathroom had a shower, bath and a separate toilet
The gym was large with plenty of equipment and the pool steam room and jacuzi were top notch
Dinner was by a very large hearth fire and the steak was excellent value
Breakfast was a full English and was plentyfull and piping hot
All in all a brilliant hotel wigh exceptional value for money will definitely return

“FANTASTIC!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

My husband booked a last minute night away as an anniversary treat. the grounds are really pretty and well kept. the building is very impressive apart from the strange pink colour. we stayed in room 31. it was very clean, large and bright. the room was full the the brim with character!! old fireplace, thick stone walls, oak beams, brass door fittings etc etc but with modern comforts, the most comfortable bed i have ever had the pleasure of sleeping in, lovely featherdown duvet, big flat screen tv, huge bath, very nice shower and the tea tray that even had horlicks, hot chocoate and soup. the staff were beyond wonderful, thoughful, attentive etc. faultless.
the best part was the price. my husband phoned a few hotels fairly close to our home (didnt want to go too far from the children) but couldnt believe his luck with the Cwrt Bleddyn sunday special. dinner bed and breakfast with an upgraded room came to £125 for the 2 of us!! i was waiting for the BUT...but if never came. i imagined dinner would be a set menu for the package customers but we were informed that we could go upto £25pp from the normal menu exc drinks. this meant a 3 course meal inc usk steak. we could not fault the food, it was absolutely delicious. again breakfast was delightful, plenty of choice of freshly made food.
if i could be picky it would be 1 small thing. the best western chief exec management were staying at the hotel the same time as us. eating breakfast whilst listening to a group of men talking about the area i live in a derogatory fashion and emcompassing the 'every welsh man is a miner' attitude. to be honest we were waiting for the sheep comments!!! because of this we rushed through breakfast and left before we listened to anymore. small i know as whats the likelihood of the next person who stays at the Cwrt Bleddyn encountering the same issue but it did put the dampener on our morning.
to sum up, if your thinking of booking it..go for it. you certainly wont be dissappointed!!

“Lovely hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

My husband and I stayed her for my 30th birthday. We arrived fairly late and struggled to find the hotel! I had printed directions out from google and they were a little vague! I phoned the front desk however and they gave very clear directions. Im not sure what grade of room we had, I dont think it was "refurbished"...it was no 16. The room was really big with plenty of space to relax. Bathroom was a good size also. There was lots of tea and coffee in the room which was very welcoming as it was freezing! Breakfast was very good with a good choice and was the service was very good. I used the spa on saturday which was a not so great. I went in to let the staff know I had arrived, but would be using the gym and pool before my appt..I presumed the staff would come and collect me...they didnt, I ended up wondering around trying to find someone..not so relaxing. Pool and jacuzzi were nice. Steam room out of order and sauna wasnt up to temp. The pool area was nice but a bit tacky, dirty table cloths and drinks for "spa package" guest only..not hotel guests already spending £80! Anyway...evening meal was beautiful and again great service. There was a wedding and a party on the same night. This did NOT affect the service at all and we did not hear a peep from the music or other guests! We had a small issue with house-keeping, but a phone call to reception sorted that. We would stay again but give the spa a miss.

Thank you for writing and review and sorry that the spa wasnt as "switched on" as we would have liked and I hope you will accept my apologies.

We have our Spa "guru" in at present revamping the Spa with some new ideas, treatments and training of the team. We are also carrying out some redecoration works this week .. We will then be starting an exciting new range of treatments.

I have asked Andrew the Leisure Club Manager to look at the sauna temperature as a lot of money was invested in this before Christmas and it is great to have feedback like this.

Kindest regards

David
