I was at the Parnell Inn only just recently with my family. The staff were very friendly, the Inn is located close to all amenities. All in all we were pleased.

However, my dad’s wallet was stolen from within our room. We were gone for only 2hours. We are not sure how it was stolen considering the rooms are all locked.
We reported the incident to the Auckland police and reported it to the front desk. However to no avail.

We are a family of four. Stayed here dec 2011, we stayed in a two bed appartment room 18, it was very basic on inside but very clean. The 2nd room in which our kids stayed was perfect for them. The gripe i have is the bathroom - recently updated was nice but had no shelves or hooks to hang anything and toilet had no lid and shower was blocked. Overall it is easy place to stay as you can walk to city centre and there is buses that go to city and bus stop is out front. It is not a place to stay for long as there is not a lot of room to sit and move around, especially with kids.

The only good point of this hotel is the location, close to good restaurants and not to far from downtown. For the rest, we had a flat with very small windows and no view, the beds were really bad. The bathroom was not very clean. And the staff was not friendly at all. It was the first time in our trip in New Zealand during the rugby world cup !

Our party included 3 Adults and 3 Children, having adjoining rooms was great. Having the Cafe on site was very convienient and welcomed children. The location was handy to the centre of Auckland and within walking distance of the Vectra Arena, a bus stop was only a few metres down the road so there was no need to use the car during the weekend.
