“I return and return and return”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 September 2011

I have been going there for the past few years - usually for 2- 3 months - as my daughter and grandchild live in Goa, and I am always greeted with the words "Welcome Home".
It is such a beautiful place with the gardens so well tended. The huts are basic, but improve every year and I can't speak highly enough of the owners and staff.
Eating breakfast watching the kingfishers and red eagles flying around the lagoon is a joy and I can't wait for my next visit in December this year.

“close to the beach! away from the noise!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 August 2011

me and two of my friends were on a backpackers budget and stayed in this hotel after we finished from a tour of india! The hotel is set out with separate bungalows connected by sand and little paths. We stayed in the lowest range of accomodation but walking around we saw higher ranged huts that looked amazing. even though ours was the lowest range we still had our own little veranda that we could sit and and a hammock! the resort is really cute with palm trees everywhere and wildlife. The owners were all really friendly and it has a family feel. The restaurant is extremely good value with many western options (nutella pancake! :)!
it also has seating on the rivers edge which is beautiful in the morning! The bathroom is basic but clean and same with the room. the spa there is great i had a massage and treatment everyday we stayed there! the spa has a professional feel and is very affordable compared to some of the other prices on our trip it has a wide range of treatments as well. it is a short walk to the quiet end of the beach and each night we walked to the beach where there is a wide range of restaurants to choose from backing on to the beach.
All in all a VERY affordable good quality clean hotel perfect for couples, backpackers or small groups of friends. You can also get family sized huts!

“Pay for the charm”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 February 2011

A friend who lives in Goa suggested Dreamcatcher to us, but we were uncertain enough to book in advance so we were walk-ins. We did a bit of bargaining and received the Jasmine and Enchanted Moments huts, which normally are 3000 rupees each but we agreed on 2000 per night.

The huts are basic yet functional and the hot water in the bathroom worked well. We had no problems with mosquitoes in the room, just when sitting outside but nothing that some repellent didn't chase away. The food in the Lotus restaurant (just taken over by new German management) was very good, and the staff were always happy to bring coffee, breakfast and snacks directly to the hut. The gardens are lovely and well maintained.

I was surprised by the amount of noise, especially in the morning. Staff often called out to one another, we could hear utensils clanging from the restaurant, not to mention the world's loudest crows on the windowsill. Obviously one of the charms of the huts is the lack of windows, but it's not ideal for light sleepers or late risers. I would highly suggest booking a hut away from the restaurant for a quieter experience. A small flashlight is highly recommended for the short walk to and from Dreamcatcher to the beach at night time, as the path is not lit and there are many obstacles.

Our biggest disappointment was the lack of wifi, even though the manager claimed it was up and running. For 5 nights, we had no internet access which really was vital for us, and the manager offered no assistance at all to help sort it. Taxi services booked through the resort are significantly higher than the market prices.

To summarize - don't be afraid to bargain for a better deal on the huts, stay clear of the restaurant area and don't expect wi-fi.

“HEAVEN!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2011

Overpriced if you compare to other places to stay around but I would definetely go and stay there next time I visit Goa. Dreamcatcher is located very close to the beach and good places to eat . The staff is friendly. The view of the huts ( the ones near the river) are amazing and it was perfect to wake up and see that view everyday. If you do not care much about paying more, you should stay there. At least for a couple of days.
