“A hotel that gives you great value for money”

We are a family of five (three girls aged 6, 4 and 2) and we spent almost two weeks at the hotel. We had a great time - and we can recommend the place. The location is nice, the swimmingpools are fine and the sunset is beautiful. There are no beach in front of the hotel, but there is a nice one just around the corner.
The rooms are okay (could be better), and the general service is okay as well (could be better). Corinna Mare hare a nice breakfast and a fairly good restaurant. (If you want to eat great, go to "Portes" in Chania). Avoid all the turist traps, and eat well!To summarize, a good hotel at a very reasonable price.

“Great Value Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 February 2011

My wife and I travelled to Crete as our first stop in Greece. This hotel is a not in the centre of the town, but is right on a great beach. There are car rental and restaurants walking distance from the hotel and bus stops, which have regular buses going into Chania and other parts of Crete.
We stayed in the studio apartment overlooking the sea. This hotel is simple and clean. From the airport most of the taxis know this hotel so getting to the hotel shouldn’t be an issue and costs around 30euros.
The one think we would have wished for was a king size bed rather than 2 twin beds together. The TV in the room is small and doesn’t have many channels but, we actually ended up spending more time on the balcony enjoying the view.
Overall this is a great value hotel a few minutes’ drive from the main town of Chaina.

“Must stay! Perfect place -- Best value for money, unbeatable location for car drivers”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 October 2010

We had initially booked a hotel in old town Chania, but soon found that parking was near impossible, even though it wasn't high season. Corinna Mare is located just outside of Chania, and is very accessible right off the main coastal road and has parking. Two swimming pools right next to the sea, with access to swimming in ocean, as well. The food at the pool/seaside restaurant was delicious (recommend the soup and tuna salad) and having access to internet and your own veranda and living room area and kitchen made for a very comfortable stay. We extended our stay from 1 to 4 nights because it was so restful and convenient. The grounds are tastefully landscaped with flowers and plants, and I would recommend this apt-hotel to all my discriminating friends.

The only shortcomings came from the water supply being cut for a day by the local administration, the infrequent towel change, and the lack of a bathtub, but when I return to Crete, I plan on staying here again!

“A wonderful hotel with great facilities and a perfect place for a beach holiday in Chania”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 August 2010

Corinna Mare had everything we were looking for!

Our group consisted of about 12 families (all Greek Australians, 3 generations which included babies, kids, teenagers and grandparents - so quite a mixed bunch) meeting up for one week together in Chania in early July.

So it was quite a task to find somewhere that would suit us all.....We wanted somewhere really nice, but reasonably priced. We wanted to stay right by the ocean but not too far away from the old town of Chania. And we wanted a friendly and relaxed hotel that would accommodate us all in our own private studios/suites/apartments – so we could all have our own space but also enjoy our time together.

Corinna Mare was absolutely perfect for our family group – and everyone loved their stay there.

It was excellent value for money - we had all been traveling around different parts of Greece/Italy/France/Spain and the UK prior to meeting up and everyone thought Corinna Mare was very affordable and inexpensive in comparison.

The location was great - only 15 minutes by bus to the old town of Chania (where we could enjoy the beautiful Venetian harbour, go to the wonderful food market, eat the best bougatsa ever, shop at Zara or dine out in many of the wonderful Cretan tavernas and restaurants).

The rooms were clean, spacious and well equipped with large balconies (ours had a lovely sea view), nice bathrooms and good kitchen facilities.

The 2 swimming pools were beautiful, crystal clear and even had a shallow section for smaller children which was great. The bar area, restaurant area and sun lounge area were all great places for our group to meet up and hang out.

The breakfast was really nice, fresh and varied each day. I would have to say it was one of the best hotel breakfasts we had during our 4 week holiday. The restaurant also served really nice Greek food for dinner, which is great if you want to have a relaxed night-in, but there are also many tavernas nearby to choose from.

The service was fantastic. Katerina and Ourania were always so warm, friendly and helpful, right from the beginning when I was emailing and trying to book the holiday for such a large group – and of course during our stay there. Nothing was a problem. You can tell it’s a family-run hotel where the owners really care.

Basically - we loved it! We hope to come back here again (all of us!).

“Great Value mid-level Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 July 2010

My family of 5 (2 adults and kids aged 8, 7 and 2) stayed at Corinna Mare in early July 2010 and very much enjoyed ourselves. The hotel's rooms are not plush by any standards, but they are everything you need for a relaxing Greek beach holiday. There is air-con in the living room and also in the separate bedroom, which is essential given how hot Crete gets in Summer. The hotel has two pools which are kept spotlessly clean (as are the rooms) and it is right on the water. The 'beach' out front is more of a rocky bay and nothing to write home about, but a dip in the ocean is still a great way to cool off. There are other, nicer beaches around Chania, so it is worth hiring a car and doing a bit of exploring (Stavros beach in particular was beautiful).

The particular strip of coast on which Corinna Mare is situated is nothing special. It is on the western side of Chania on a fairly busy road which is lined with the usual tawdry assortment of supermarkets, souvenier shops and restaurants (some with touts). To be honest, the old town in central Chania is far prettier. That said, the hotel is a great base from which to explore western Crete. It is surprisingly quiet at night, there are large areas of sun lounges (if you are a sun worshipper) and the restaurant serves better than average food. There are also some better restaurants within walking distance.

Without doubt, Corinna Mare's biggest selling point is value for money. Our room, which fitted the five of us (albeit with the older kids sleeping on a foldout and our youngest in a cot) cost approximately 100 euros per night, which I thought was a great deal. My wife and I had our own separate bedroom and it didn't fel overly cramped even with the three kids in the living room. As we were out and about most of the day and also for dinner each night, I was never bothered by the number of us in the room, even though I would normally not stay in a hotel unless it had two totally separate bedrooms.

Overall, I thought Corinna Mare was perfect for a family beach holiday.
