My husband and I booked a "Holiday Family Unit" here as we were intending to stay a week to catch up with friends who were touring around Australia in their caravan. Our friends had booked an en-suite van site and were also very disappointed with the state of it. Like the cabin we had, it was filthy, dark and cold. They had been travelling and staying in Caravan Parks for over 4 months and said this was the worst they had experienced.
Payment in full is required on check in, with no refunds, so you are stuck there. We paid over $600.00 dollars for the 6 nights and the cabin/unit was terrible. The floor was so dirty our feet stuck to it, which meant keeping shoes on all the time. There was a small fan heater in the cabin but you had to turn it off if you wanted to use the microwave or any other electrical appliance in case it shorted the power out. ( There were signs up to warn of the problem). Which might be OK in summer but while we were there it was wet and very cold. All the lights would fade when the shower exaughst was on. The toilet and shower cubicle were dirty and stained, the linen was very old and worn, and the bed was as hard as concrete.
We all ended up going down to Margaret River for 2 nights as we couldn't stand it there and found wonderful, clean, serviced accommodation for only an extra $15.00 a night more than at Vineyards.
