This is a well set up park but we made the mistake of taking the budget (should read "sub-standard") cabin. It is clearly past its useby date and at $618 (discount rate for staying a week) it is a rip off. If the health inspectors could see it it would be condemned. Wet rot in floor boards inside entrance and in ensuite, Can't make a cup of tea when aircon is on. TV is a dinosaur, comeon folks it's the digital age. It has a remote that is not the original and was not tuned to the TV so had to be operated manually. When assistance sought to rectify, compatible tuning instructions could not be located by staff, we were wished luck and that's the last we saw of the staff. THis cabin has had so many repairs and patch up's over the years it must surely have been cheaper to replace it. Now's the time, knock it over.

“Cosy New Deluxe Studio”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 August 2011

Celebrated a wedding anniversary with my husband by having a dego dinner with wine at Dear Friends restaurant and since we didn't want to drive after dinner, chose to stay at this Holiday Park as it was just across the road! Perfect! We chose to stay in a Deluxe Studio, one of their new style cabins with all new amenities and fixtures. Friendly front desk service, easy check-in and surroundings were peaceful. The Deluxe studio definitely lives up to its "deluxe" label for a holiday park.

Room Tip: The Deluxe Studio is perfect for couples thinking of staying in a holiday park and not wanting to ro...

“This place is terrible”

Don't stay at this place. Air conditioning does not work properly. cools main room but not bedrooms. very outdated place. bathroom mouldy and cupboards have wood rot. If air conditioner is on you can not use other appliances as it cuts the power. it is a 1950's caravan without the wheels. do not stay in summer as hell would be cooler.

“Nice staff, basic room”

As country residents when we travel to Perth we only stay 1 or 2 nights. Normally we stay at hotel/motels. This time we decided to give the Vineyards Holiday Park a go as it was close to our activities. The cost of the Holiday Cabin was equivalent to a hotel at $125 for the night.

On arrival we were greeted by the park managers, who were very friendly. When the lady had some idea of what we were doing she suggested we come back to the office to call a cab due to the poor way the taxi industry is run in Perth ( WA Traveler Tip: if you are only wanting a short trip don't give a destination when you book. Taxi drivers will pick long fares and tell their dispatchers that the short fare was not there if it is assigned to them.) We were directed to our unit, which was directly behind the busy swimming pool. As we were only staying one night and would really only sleeping there this wasn't a big problem but if we were a long stay it would lose its novelty quickly if we wanted peace and quiet. The pool users also have uninterrupted views of the Cabin if the curtains are open.

Inside the Cabin was quite comfortable. The Queen size bed was firm, the pillows look ready for replacement. The only (minor) issue with cleanliness was a little mould in the bathroom. The air conditioner was on when we arrived, which is very welcome. There was ice blocks in the freezer a water jug in the cupboard. The kitchen was well equipped for holiday cooking. A TV and DVD player are available, TV was not digital so only 5 channels. There is Wifi available, at a cost. We didn't use it so didn't investigate the price/coverage/speed etc.

The Swan Valley is a great place if you like wine, but this park is close to Perth, the hills and national parks. Caversham Wildlife Park and Whiteman Park are also close by and worth a visit.

We would consider staying here again and would recommend it to others based on our visit.

“Very Disappointing.”

My husband and I booked a "Holiday Family Unit" here as we were intending to stay a week to catch up with friends who were touring around Australia in their caravan. Our friends had booked an en-suite van site and were also very disappointed with the state of it. Like the cabin we had, it was filthy, dark and cold. They had been travelling and staying in Caravan Parks for over 4 months and said this was the worst they had experienced.
Payment in full is required on check in, with no refunds, so you are stuck there. We paid over $600.00 dollars for the 6 nights and the cabin/unit was terrible. The floor was so dirty our feet stuck to it, which meant keeping shoes on all the time. There was a small fan heater in the cabin but you had to turn it off if you wanted to use the microwave or any other electrical appliance in case it shorted the power out. ( There were signs up to warn of the problem). Which might be OK in summer but while we were there it was wet and very cold. All the lights would fade when the shower exaughst was on. The toilet and shower cubicle were dirty and stained, the linen was very old and worn, and the bed was as hard as concrete.
We all ended up going down to Margaret River for 2 nights as we couldn't stand it there and found wonderful, clean, serviced accommodation for only an extra $15.00 a night more than at Vineyards.
