“tired and musty”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

hotel decor was awful like it hadnt been touched since the eighties. There was a cobweb on the ceiling and the corridors smelt damp and musky. The polystyrene tiles on the ceiling were black and some were missing. My bath had a brown stain from the taps dripping water which we couldn't switch off.The breakfast in the conservatory was like a nursing home, warm orange juice and piped music. The plastic plants in the foyer were in need of a wash.Only I was visiting family who lived 2 minutes away And didn't spend that much time in room I would give it a miss and stay at the Feathers Hotel up the road which is lovely.

“Not that bad”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

I stayed here with my boyfriend in December. The rooms were basic but fully equipped for a two night stay. The breakfast looked amazing but took 45 minutes to arrive as they somehow lost our order

“OK for one night....”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 December 2011

I was in Ware for one night only with my son for a family Xmas, and picked this hotel because of its central location. Checked in at 9pm and left at 11am, so we didn't stay here long... The room was very tired and dusty, but as we were only there for the night it didn't really bother me too much... The place was warm and my bed was comfortable. Didn't get to try breakfast because we got down to the restaurant at 10:02 and were told by reception that they finished serving at 10am sharp even on Boxing Day.

Dear Reviewer,
Thank you for taking the time to leave your comments. We are making steps in the right direction with the bedrooms cleanliness and decor with maintenance schedules and standard cleaning procedures. I am sorry you never got into breakfast as a lunch for 100 people was in after the breakfast on Boxing day.

Thanks again for your review and hope to see you again soon

“They couldn't have tried harder”

My daughter recently held her wedding reception at this hotel, chosen because the price was reasonable and the hotel were very flexible with what they could do within the budget.
I didnt personally stay in a room so cant comment on accomodation.
However I felt I had to write a review as the manager and hotel staff did everything possible to make the evening run as smooth as possible and deserve some praise.
My daughter stayed in the bridal suite before and after the wedding which she was more than happy with.
On the morning of the wedding my daughters zip broke on her wedding dress! The lady that cleaned her room came to the rescue and sowed her into the dress - disaster avoided! My daughter said she was an absolute star and saved the day - so a special thank you to this kind lady.
In the evening her one year old son's bottle went missing - the man serving behind the bar walked to the local Tesco to find one - in the rain! Talk about above and beyond the call of duty! Many thanks to this excellent member of staff.
The manager personally co-ordinated the evening, was very attentive and made sure the whole evening ran smoothly, thank you.
The food was excellent, couldn't fault it at all.
All in all a very pleasant experience and I would recomend this as a wedding venue to anyone.

Thanks again to everyone at the Roebuck.

“Grubby and tired!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 December 2011 via mobile

Have just come home from the Xmas party night at the Roebuck the staff were friendly however our room was tatty and smelly and straight from the 1960's
The food ,ok it was Xmas fair was worse than last year warm tasteless and barely eddable.
Breakfast was however very nice.
This hotel is ugly from the outside and tatty and dated on the inside do yourself a favour and stay at the Marriott, we paid £60 for our room which for me was £40 too expensive
