After wandering around Sunset and Sunrise beach for about 2 hours trying to look for a cheap, nice place to stay, we stumbled upon a family run guesthouse - Daya Resort. We haden't thought about inquiring here because the prices listed in the Lonely Planet were ~1000 baht/night. However, the first price quoted to us was 300 baht/night for a double bed - perfect for my sister and I!
The rooms were very basic but clean. The staff offered us free tea and coffee during our stay and at night, the kitchen would cook fresh fish on the beach's bbq from the day's catch.
Overall, I had a great experience at Daya Resort and cannot think of any negative comments.
