“Wouldnt stay here again”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 September 2011

We spent 2 weeks here in august a first family holiday abroad.Having missed a whole night sleep before arriving we were then dissapointed when we opened our apartment door.It was really run down and in desperate need of an overall makeover. The fridge was not working properly and very smelly. The washing machine did not spin properly so had to wring the clothes out outside.Lighting very dull and could hardly see in bathroom even with lights on.The rooms were very hoy and was difficult to sleep at night as no air con or fans installed. Our toaster was completely melted all along the top.The best part about apartment was the outside space with table and chairs. After a couple of days workman began working above us from early in the morning.Banging walls, taking windows and doors out and general noise of builders at work. There was no advance warning of this on the internet or when you check in. Whilst it is obvious they are modernising some notice would have been nice when booking.Half the apartments were empy where they had been gutted for refurbishment. The nightly entertainment was appalling.Whilst we have 3 kids ourselves we did not wish to hear kids on karaoke during the night. The bar shut at 11-11.30pm and was very expensive for drinks. We didnt dare to eat there and felt sorry for people that were all inclusive. One of the pools which happened to be a kids pool was closed, the pool we used only opened until 6pm.The mini golf was more like a mini jungle.we played table tennis which you had to pay for use of bats and ball but when we got them the bats were falling to pices and the rubber was hanging of or missing. We purchased our own bats and ball in a local shop for3 euro 95 and used them.Lucky for us this place did not ruin our holiday as we travelled out everyday to see things and different places. However if the place had been nicer and had entertainment in the nights we would have spent more time there. We never complained but probably should have.At least 2 familys that we know of complained and demanded to move elsewhere and they were.Their thompson rep said that she was embarrassed to drop them there.Tenerife is a lovely place and we did enjoy our holiday but the apartments were a let down.

“run down no good dump. carry on abroad springs to mind.”

Just got back, and it's still a building site. our 7am wake up call could of been anything from drills, loud banging, windows being ripped out, trees being cut down workmen shouting the list goes on. The main pool in all photos i've seen advertised is now an out of bounds area, apart from the room above it (our family room) all the other rooms around the pool are derelict with no windows or doors, what a view NOT. The pool that is in use, is only open till 6.00pm if your lucky. This pool is not fit for humans, there were nails poking out the sides, the water was dirty, the tiles were gone in some places if not gone lose in others, the bins were over loaded and smelt very bad in the heat, the rooms were VERY hot the windows didn't lock and there were no safes or fans in any of the rooms, people were being robbed as the securty was very poor. in our room the fridge didn't work, the lights worked when they wanted the cold tap was hot and the hot tap was cold, not good when the kids want to use them, the washing machine melts your clothes on a cool wash, the smoke alarm is just for show, the rooms are very old just like all it's contents the list goes on and on. the complex is a buliding site and the things that wasn't under construction badly need it, the mini golf is so run down the cockroches have set up home there, the football pitch is a cage of very dirty sand? these works are not going to be finished anytime soon, if you have booked this place change it now i would rather of spent 2 weeks in Afganistan with the kids.

Room Tip: anywhere not on the complex

“Not happy!”

As the pictures on the internet show, it looks nothing like what it actually looks like now, its older now. It needs a definite makeover. The pools were a bit old, the tiles on the bottom of the pool were loose and was sharp on your feet. One of the pools is shut, which is a let down as it looked the nicest out of all of them. The appartments were absolutely boiling, it was like a sauna, there was no air-conditioning, even if you opened a window it wouldnt help. The doors and windows were old. The kitchen was basic, we didnt really use any of the appliances as we ate out most nights, we wouldnt cook in them anyway. The toaster was falling to pieces. The washing machine would make loud noises when in use. The wardrobes were dusty and had a funny smell. I would not stay here again!

“Not the best but not the worst”

Before going, the reviews I had read really put me off from going. But when we got there, it was better than I had expected. The best thing I would say is the entertainment. There's things to do for older and younger generation. Play areas (inside and outside) also 3 swimming pools. There might have been more but didn't get to see. If you love your sleep and tend to sleep early, then unfortunately this isn't the place for you, there's a lot of night time entertainment such as Karaoke which can easily be heard no matter where your staying in the hotel. The food was great. Every evening you could depend on chips, ice cream, cake, pork and vegetables. They varied the dinner a lot too. The breakfast however, was same every morning. Egg, beans, bacon, boiled egg, and so on. The hotel is clean, you will always see at least 15 people constantly cleaning where ever you go. None of the rooms frontal sea view however there are some rooms (such as mine) where you had a little peep of the sea. Its a 15 minute or less stroll to the beach where you have restaurants, shops, souvenirs and so on. My 3 year old child loved it, as well as my 14 year old. If your going for self catering, I recommend you to take a lot of cash with you. I think this place hasn't been viewed to its full potential and that other people are under estimating it. Have fun! I'm sure you will enjoy it!

Room Tip: There's easy taxi service just down the road

“Cockroaches”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 April 2011

we didn't even sleep the night there, as on entering the room, we saw 4 cockroaches (one in one of the beds) and left immediately. Did not want to spend the night with cockroaches. told this to the receptionist, who only commented that cockroaches are a problem of the whole island and didn't offer another room without cockroaches. Had to go out looking for another hotel in the night and ended up finding one without roaches..
