Firstly it must be said, it is with much regret that we feel compelled to write this poor review.
As well seasoned travellers, we are usually so easy going, laid back, and take pretty much everything as it comes whilst on our travels. But our recent experience staying at these bungalows has left us extremely dissatisfied and disappointed.
We stayed for 1 week from 26th December 2011, so were there over new year (and what a non-event that was!).
This was our second consecutive new year in GC, having stayed in PDI last year and enjoyed it so much, but how disappointed we were this time. So much so, I don't believe we will be returning to GC for a very long time (if at all)!
During the whole weekend (day & night) the poolside bar at Sandy Golf was closed, and from mid-afternoon on new year's eve so was the Green Golf bar (with doors locked too), presumably to prepare for the evening?
The Supermarket was also closed (although we never managed to catch this place open at any time that it was supposed to)!!
Consequently, we were left with no access to food and beverage at all for quite a few hours, until we ventured out later for the evening.
We found most of the staff at receptions & bars unfriendly, unhelpful, and ignorant (with the exception of a couple of breakfast waiters, one barman, and our maid). Infact, we made more friends with the cats around the place than any human being!!
The sunbeds around the pool area were very uncomfortable - non-adjustable, hard plastic with no matress (though plentiful as no-one found this a pleasant experience, and opted to lie on the hard concrete in preference, using the loungers as windbreaks!).
Having researched these bungalows very carefully, and read all reviews before we went, this holiday just did not meet our expectations.
That said though, on the plus side, the complex and bungalows were very clean, tidy, and quiet. But too quiet for us after dark, as everything shuts down at 11p.m., and any form of civilisation requires a taxi ride to get to.
Sorry to all you travellers who rate the Cordial Sandy/Green Golf highly, but we cannot agree.
