“Good but would not stay again!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012 via mobile

The hotel is basic and clean however quite noisy with main road at back of bedroom. The cleaners while efficient started way too early and made a lot of noise in process!! The pool area was spacious but the weather was not great (not Tisalyas fault of course) if a certain age ie over 60 ideal place but it sometimes felt like staying in a retirement home again not tisalayas fault!! My last day was spoilt by a very unhelpful receptionist who would not help me with trying to print off my boarding pass and go somewhere else to do so (they to were very unhelpful) this made my last few hours at tisalaya a bit stressful and annoying
As a holiday destination gran canaria wasn't really my cup of tea and tisalaya was ok but for a cheap and sometimes cheerful place it much like holidaying in a caravan park with decent weather!! Enjoy

“Great value for money! Had a terrific holiday!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2012

We spent one week in Tisalaya park in January 2012 and had a great time. Really good value for the money, quiet and relaxing! Friendly staff in the hotel and in the restaurant!

The appartement we got was a little bit smelly but I think it hadn't been used for a couple of days, because after a while the smell wasn't there that much.

The kitchen is very basic, so if you are planning to cook your own meals (we trevelled with a 3 year old and made a lot on our own) bring some equipment. The plates are slooooow, it takes for ever to even boil an egg.
There is a little "freezer-box" in the refrigarator.

The beds were good.

The poolarea is great, allthough a little old. The water in the childrens pool was really cold (not heated at all).

The playarea for children is no longer there, so the pictures in some homepages are not accurate.

There is a free bus for the beach, and if you want to travel further north the coastline there is a busstop just 500 metres from the hotel. We went to a small beach called Anfi, just 25 minutes by bus. Did cost us 2,20 each, one way.

Since we prepared are own food we went to the big Mercadona (supermarket) and it took us around 35 minutes by foot. We took the taxi back, it didn't cost more than 3-4 euros (so if you don't want the exercise it is a cheap ride). Mercadona has everything!
On Wednesdays and Saturdays there is a market really close by, where you can buy meat, fish, vegetables and fruits (inside the building). Really good! Don't miss the excellent fruit-drinks!

The cleaning was really good (five days out of seven with clean towels - more than we actually needed).

We took the tranfer to and from the hotel with Low cost holiday and it was really good aswell.

We really recommend this hotel for people (like us) wanting to have a nice, lovely, relaxing holiday for a small amount of money. A lot of people staying at the hotel are there for a long period of time, or are returning year after year. We also would love to come back!

“amazing holiday, people just being fussy”

we went to tisalaya apartments in maspalomas on the 14th of january and when we got there the rooms were nice, clean and good value for money. Very annoying that people are complaining over such pathetic reasons such as the kettle, no offense but not a lot of people drink hot drinks in hot countries. The pools were cold and they werent heated but they were not ice cold so we went swimming without caring what the other people thought. The weather was amazing and we had a fantastic time. the rooms were cleaned every day and the safe was only 20 euros with 10 euros deposit back. Holiday world and Faro2 were located 10 minutes walk away which was lovely because they had a lovely range of restaurants. You pay for what you get and to be honest your not going to get 5 star customer service because it's not a five star hotel.
all in all we had an amazing holiday with nothing to complain about apart from the people who are just fussy and bloody moan at every little thing, some people need to grow up and realise this is not a five star hotel!!!
i highly recommend this hotel to anyone whos looking, dont take any notice to the complaints on here, we didnt and we had a great time, there's always going to be complaints on every hotel

“Be careful......”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

We arrived to Tisalaya to be told there was a problem with my apartment and I was being relocated to another apartment, I was travelling alone with my daughter and had researched Tisalaya and conversed with some people through Trip advisor before going ahead with this booking and was therefore very reluctant to change.

The alternative location was so not family friendly, it was busy, the bar dominated, my bathroom window was broken, my backdoor was loose and a small bolt was all that kept it in place. That and having a party until 5am in the apartment next door meant neither my daughter or I slept at all that night. I was also told by a member of the staff at this complex that we were the 16th customers that had been sent over from Tisalaya under this same arrangement.

I went back to Tisalaya and after much arguing we got a room. As a compensation they offered us half board, when we went to the restaurant to get breakfast the person in charge was so rude and abrupt because apparently we were to go at a specific time for a buffet that between lack of sleep, stress, disappointment and heartbroken for my daughter whom all she wanted was a swim in the pool and had worn her swimsuit the whole way on the aeroplane the day before I ended up in floods of tears in the reception area.

This resulted in the same man coming over to me that evening saying ‘you have a problem with me and my attitude?’ …’you tell my boss you have a problem with me and my attitude?’. It was absolutely horrendous. I tried to find another place to stay but nothing was available so we stayed the rest of the week, for my daughters sake I made the most of it, the breakfasts were inedible but my daughter enjoyed the pizzas but I would never ever ever risk this happening again. I have travelled a lot both package and backpacking worldwide and have never ever experienced anything like this.....

Room Tip: Definitely stay away from the rooms at back of reception
