we were suprised to end up here as we were supposed to be going to the orqueda which was overbooked. we also recieved compensation, talk about getting lucky this is a good hotel which merits 4 stars. food is good quality plenty of choice, beer and wine good, wine could be cooler at times. the majority of staff cheerful and helpful boys in piano bars and downstairs great fun entertainment is good the odd night you have to go next door to the sister hotel to watch a show.you can take a beer with you as next door is only halfboard not all inc if your going make sure you watch the platters, blues bros and girl singer on monday.the only problems we found were the sunbeds which are plentiful but lots of them are not in the sun and you have to get up early to beat the germans and some brits to get a good spot. this hotel is very popular with elderly germans and brits but there are plenty of younger people there as well, from what i saw the old uns have just as much fun if not more than the young uns. we would go back to this hotel but at the right price

Room Tip: if your taking kids 2nd or 3rd floor

“Not for under 60 year olds!”

Just got back from this hotel which is advertised as 5 star, it's not at all in comparison to others I've stayed in around the world. Main issue was 90 per cent of people at this hotel were over 60 which wasn't ideal for a young couple in there 20's. The food was pretty simple, if you are the kind of person who likes to go abroad and eat English stuff you eat back home then it's for you. There's nothing Spanish about it, it's pretty dull. The two good points were the cleanliness and the amount of alcohol available in the all inclusive package, however the bar is where alot of older people hang out and the music there is geared towards them, golden oldie style. the hotel is also not really located in walking distance to anywhere worthwhile except the sand dunes, otherwise u need a taxi or the local bus. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone under 60 or the actual island, it's overall pretty boring.

“Great Hotel and lovely staff”

After reading reviews was a little apprehensive but absolutely no need to be.
This is a lovely hotel with great staff. Staff at a hotel can either make your holiday great or bad adn they most certainly made it great. The cleanliness was next to none in every area. The restuarant staff were so friendly and the food was great.
Wouldn't mark as 5 star as a few things missing - like free wi-fi access and if you use every day its very expensive. Would recommend this hotel

“Almost paradise”

Lovely hotel with excellent food and great facilities . A little bit of a walk from maspalomas beach and dunes but a pleasant walk. Taxis are very cheap so no problems getting around. The only slight criticism I would make is that the kids entertainment isn't great but the hotel itself is fab and we had a fantastic memorable holiday.

“Not a 5 star hotel!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 January 2012

Arrived on 2 January for a 1 week stay in what was advertised as a 5 star hotel with First Choice! The hotel shares its pool area with Maspalomas Princess next door so if you like a sunbed in the sun then book somewhere else as there are not enough sunbeds and if you want to a spot in the sun then be prepared to get up at 5 in the morning to reserve one and be virtually sitting on top of the person next to you!

The hotel is very clean, the drinks were cheap brands (when the barmen eventually served you) and entertainment was ok, some good others not so! The food was good, however you had to queue up for a table for breakfast and dinner and it was like a butlins canteen and staff were very miserable and unfriendly.

Overall this hotel was not worth what we paid for it for a weeks stay as we have stayed in 5 star before and this hotel is no way 5 star. It was far too busy with miserable staff, so will not be returning!
