“Very nice.. but would not return”

Arrived on the 28 January had a one bedroom bungalow which was ok but there is nowhere to sit and eat your food had to bring in the plastic chairs from outside cooking facilities alright microwave, toaster, kettle and two ring stove and a coffee maker. Beds a pain because of the ill fitting sheets. Went out for a walk that night to find there is nothing around the complex so realised to go out anywhere we would have to get taxis which we did every night went to Playa del Ingles. The weather was very cloudy and windy the first day but after that it was very warm the gardens around the bungalows are very nice and there were plenty of sunbeds the jacuzzi and the heated pool were also very nice. The complex was well maintained it was just the location we like to go out but unless you get a taxi there is nowhere
to go. Holiday World was down the road but that is just for kids. The reception staff in the day were friendly but grumpy bloke on reception in night just got a grunt back when you asked him to call you a taxi. All in all a nice holiday we were lucky with weather and we did use the free bus to the beach for us the location was not suitable and this is the reason we would not return to this complex. Also the prices of drinks in the night were very expensive. I took some of my own food and teabags which saved us money as everything in the supermarket attached to complex was very expensive.

“Quiet and clean stay in beautiful setting”

Just back from our third stay at this resort. As always, clean, quiet and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. The gardens are beautiful with plenty of room between the bungalows. Two pools with the smaller one heated in January. Always stay self catering so no comment on food. Not many restaurants nearby but good supermarket, Mercadonna in nearby El Tablero. Beds would be nice with duvets rather than blankets - but fine. Adequate cooking facilites - 2 rings and microwave - for a 2 week stay. Love it here.

Room Tip: All rooms have a patio which will get the sun at some point during the day

“Definitely not cold here!”

We stayed here from 9th to 23rd January. It was fabulous! Weather was a bit cloudy towards the end but we had plenty of sunshine. The bungalows are very comfortable and well equipped. Although we ate out most nights we did "cook-in" three nights which was very easy. We hired a car and drove all over the island which is very picturesque and beautiful with loads of wonderful sights. There was a variety of evening entertainment from flamenco dancers to wild birds and acrobats to reptiles. The restaurant and pool bar were very good with a Canarian buffet every Tuesday and a barbecue every Thursday. The pool bar also did snacks and had a happy hour every night. For those with no car there is a free bus to the beech and Maspalomas town and the taxis are very reasonable. Very good restaurants including Chinese all-you-can-eat buffet all around the area from Maspalomas beech to the Yumbro Centre, Faro2 shopping centre and Kasbah shopping centre. There are more restaurants than you could visit in 14 days!
The staff from reception to the cleaner were all very friendly and helpful.
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will go back again.

Room Tip: Try to get a room away from the pool and play area if you like a quiet stay.

“FANTASTIC HOLIDAY”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 January 2012

My wife and I have just got back from Cay Princess Bungalows after a week of lovely weather in Gran Canaria.

I can honestly say that these apartments were of a very high standard, spacious, very clean and, well maintained. The complex itself is very well laid out, plenty of space for sunbeds and each bungalow does feel like a little villa on it's own. You aren't packed in like sardines with your neighbour and each bungalow has it's own little patio area with lovely gardens surrounding them.

We spent a week here from New Years Eve and I can honestly say that we have come home feeling like we've had a very relaxing and enjoyable holiday. No small part of this is down to the accommodation here and in particular to the lovely staff that work here as well. From the the very professional and helpful staff on reception to the pool bar staff and maid service. We were treated as valued guests from day one.

We were self catering but used the pool bar for evening meals and the odd lunch when we there and there was a decent choice of food, nicely prepared and always very fresh.

In terms of the area, as others have pointed out, it is in a quiet residential/villa location so there are not dozens of restaurants and bars really nearby. However it was a very nice place to be located because of this. My wife and I are keen runners so we were able to run on a very attractive landscaped walks and paths that are in the immediate area. In terms of eating out we found the walk to Maspalomas lighthouse area a very enjoyable 20 minute stroll in the balmy Canaries January weather and found numerous higher end restaurants especially the nearer to Melonares you walked. Would recommend Las Rias in the Melonares shopping mall. Beautiful choice of fresh seafood. There are also several supermarkets here where you can pick up reasonably priced provisions if you are self catering.

I cant really fault the hotel, the only things are minor niggles. We arrived at 7.30pm in the evening on New Years Eve and it would have been nice if there had been some soap supplied in the apartments and perhaps a complimentary 1st day self catering pack of milk, water, bread, tea and coffee. The hotel shop at this time was closed and after a 4 hour flight and arriving in the dark you don't really want to be trekking out to get fresh bottled water and soap etc.

However I'd give it a very deserved 4 out of 5 and would have no hesititions about recommending it especially to familes, and couples.

By the way the cats are gorgeous- very friendly well looked after and well fed cats. They are more like pets to be honest

Highly recommended!

“Not brilliant but not bad either”

We finally arrived on 27th after being disgracefully delayed by Thomsons and were pleasantly surprised. The place does seem to be behind times but is very clean and the staff are all nice and efficient enough. The rooms are functional but only big enough for 2 people really. We didn't eat any meals here except an afternoon burger which was pretty grim. The wind was a nightmare but can't blame the hotel for that! The accomodation has the complete basics in them so cooking is difficult. The small shop is expensive.Bring what you can in food ie coffee,t bags beans
Taxis are regular and we ate out every evening The best is down in Meloneres average about £15 each plus £3.50 a beer ,£4 v large shorts.Yumbo centre is probably the best for bars and shops at the same time. Not the place for young groups of lads or ladies but enough for families and older.
